2004 Robot Rodeo Committee

hmmm....seems as if there has been some breakdown in communication....neways according to the team coordinators in florida the information is as follows, and has been out for a while.

Robot Rodeo, robotics competition at Evans High School in Orlando, on Saturday October 23, 2004. Robots in competition playing the 2004 game on an official FIRST field. Sponsored by Team 186 - Gateway HS and by Team 1068 - Evans High School.

Just a thought, but we may want to clear this up FAST :ahh: otherwise there may be problems for people who do not read Chief Delphi who only got the e-mail from the team coordinators....also is the date the same because you did not post one...sry just trying to make sure things don't get messed up...

If you are the team leader, then you should be getting an official email from me about the rodeo. It was going to be at Evans High School, but it fell through and now it is at University High School. THis is the official venue for the event. For more information you can check out www.team-emoticons.com/robotrodeo.htm

Sorry for the mis-confusion. The letter you are speaking of was sent earlier this summer before school grades came out. This was the main factor for the change in venue.

It doesn't matter to me where a FIRST local event is held, I'll be there!

Looking forward to it very much. It was a great experience last year and was held on a very nice campus.

Perhaps currently, but if you're talking about "ever" there used to be "Mayhem in Miami", and KSC hosted an offseason after nationals for a couple years.

Mayhem in Miami was last held in 2000. But the point of this is... I thought KSC offseason was for teams that got sponsored by NASA only... anyone?

I wasn't talking about "ever", but it wasn't only for KSC teams, or entirely by KSC if i remember correctly....it was held in FIU's arena....I believe that RamTech held it along with one other team in the miami area who's robot did not meet the minimum build requirements.

Andrew Rudolph 23-09-2004 22:49

Re: Robot Rodeo Offcial Announment

There was a bunch of teams who helped drive Mayhem in Miami at FIU's Arena. Sort of a south florida alliance back when there was a large number of teams there. We tried to get Mayhem Back up and running a few times but were unsucessful (obviously) here is a picture of the king of the hill match from the last mayhem in miami, i guess its also the last match played at mayhem in miami.

Ok, i know everybody has been distracted from robots by these huricanes and the rodeo is only a month away. this is the current list of teams already registered fot the rodeo

1083
168

59
1402

945

79

186
1368
1369
179

Right now there is only ten I know some people still dont have power and havent had registration on theirr minds lately. According to andrew's post teams can still rewgister for an extra $50 on top of the basic $100 registration.

IF You're A Florida team Who Is getting You're team togeather I BEG! you to Come to the rodeo. it's a great way to get rookies familiar with the atmosphere of a competition and lets them know a little bit of what they're preparing for in those 6 weeks. not to mention It is WAY! fun for everybody And Andrew is Making some Realy awesome Trophies.

First off... i agree with tyty. Robot Rodeo is the most fun time that you can get when you are not stressing yourself out to get something to work. i have been there for the past two years. it has been great. the committee that organizes this competition is great. this year at Robot Rodeo 2004, we have planned on a lot of other things and just not the competition itself. we need support from all the teams from florida. its understandable that due to the hurricanes a lots of us have lost power... but hey its time to rock and roll! lets get the Robot Rodeo 2004 moving. So please get your team registered for this fun time.

i have just talked to SPAM. most likely they are registering soon... :)

Re: Robot Rodeo Offcial Announment

do not count on s.p.a.m. just yet-- these hurricane have disrupted my team greatly with no power, no net to register

so we'll see not 100% sure right now if my team will be competing or not
I'm hoping we will be so plz save room for s.p.a.m. if it's all possible

Mr. higgins, Warren: register us plz!!!

Re: Robot Rodeo Offcial Announment

Count Team 1068 out of the robot rodeo. Sorry guys. School is going through a ton of changes with new administrators and the administration hasn't been so supportive of the robotics team at the moment. However, we will have a contingency out there during the rodeo to allow our rookie members a taste of the atmosphere.

Re: Robot Rodeo Offcial Announment

The 2004 Robot Rodeo Committee is very excited to announce that registration has been extended until the 20th of October! Even better, the $50 late fee has been waived because... well us Florida teams really need a break after what we have been through.

We are working really hard to put on a great show for everone, and we really look forward to seeing all the teams here on the 23rd!!

To register, all you need to do is send an email to pelln@ocps.net <mailto:pelln@ocps.net> with the following information:
