Huricane frances vs Charlie
1 Attachment(s)
Well, I eyed it a bit more, and edited the path picture. My house is boarded up and I will be evacuating to Orlando to some bigger hotels. One way or another, I am NOT missing the first University of Oklahoma football game of the season! We will watch it in Orlando, and then retreat to a hotel and wait for it to come Saturday night. and as for those happy about the 5 day weekend, be ready...if it hits you are going to be out of school for much longer than that. I Don't want this thing to hit, and I don't wish it upon the citizens of South Carolina, either. This weekend is not going to be a day at the beach, but the beach might be coming closer to my house. Merit island might be completely submerged. Pray for all, and watch the OU sooners this weekend. Boomer Sooner.

Re: Huricane francis
That's one huge sucker.
I hope you guys can all make it through with minimal property damage. I'm not one known to pray all that often, but I definitely will for you guys. Cory |
Re: Huricane francis
They are now saying that the storm has slowed down to around 10mph, which is quite bad news, as it means that affected areas will have to endure the winds for much longer. For more info, I would highly recommend the Accuweather Breaking Weather Videos.
It also looks like the Cape Canaveral area is going to be hardest hit, with 130MPH+ winds. If there is damage (structures there were only designed for 125 MPS winds), it could mean the end of the shuttle program. |
Re: Huricane francis
Good luck to all of u ppl down there in the path of this storm. I will pray 4 all of u.

Re: Huricane francis
As far as the big wall goes, I think sometime in the past someone wanted to build fans to blow away hurricanes too, long as we're on the subject :-p

Re: Huricane francis
I made it to miami, There are 2.5 million people est. that are evacuating. Biggest in the history of the state. It took me 2.5 hours to go 4 miles to get on the turnpike. Northbound was traffic almost the whole way. I hear that 95 from cocoa north to the state line is gridlock. Good luck to everyone surviing the storm!

Okay, I know I've been saying that people aren't taking this serious enough, but we finished with boarding up the house, and out came my spray paint.

Re: Huricane francis
This hurricane Frances is HUGE, larger and more threatning than Bonnie and Cly... I mean Charlie. (Next time, NOAA better get it right! :D) Anywho, once again, my prayers and hopes, etc. are with you guys down there, and my best advice would be to get out if you can and if you can't, find the best possible shelter. God bless, and take care.

Right now, there's tropical storm Ivan in the pacific, and hurricane Howard in the Atlantic, near California. |
Byeeeeeeeeeee
I'm packing up, shutting down, unplugging the computer, and evacuating to Orlando now. I'll have my cell with me if anyone wants to reach me for as long as we still have service.
See you all soon! |

Re: Huricane francis
I hope you guys are all okay!
I'll be keeping you all in my prayers. The hurricane worries me too, my grandparents live down there. *worry face* --Dori |
Re: Huricane francis
Yeah its cat 3 now, but its still might cross the golf which is a warm body of water, warm body's = not good.. Hurricane charley was a cat 3 until just before it hit and then was a cat 4. Same thing could happen.
I really don't know where its gonna hit, it just to a big jog west which is bad for ft. lauderdale and that area.. where I live.. I'm packing up and leaving now for inland a bit. I'm pretty close to the evacuation zone. I'm not to worried, but its gonna be a fun one :-) See everyone on the otherside |
