magazene
well you know many teams have their own magazene. like Stuyvessant high school. maybe you should get some tips from them!
|
It's a great idea. Also you can add in tips to help out rookie teams. However, it shouldn't be web based. I'm sure if FIRST steps behind it which they probably would you'd be able to distribute it nationally to suscribers.

Love the pics and I am willingly to write occasionaly a column on strategy for the game. I'm not sure what you want in the article. If you are interested in my input just email me at tsd2@cisunix.unh.edu

I can't believe I missed this entire thread earlier this year. I would love to do some articles or something to add to the newsletter. I even volunteer the Georgia Tech FIRST group <looking around to make sure no one is watching>:D
I don't know how much time I could put in but if your looking for something in particular, like an article or how to, drop me an email or something. |
Glad to see people are still interested in doing this. Just got an e-mail from Gene, and I've been talking to Robby a few weeks ago too, seems like both of them will be fairly busy doing projects of their own.
Mean while, I am going to work hard making the CD newsletter much better this year, and I am planning to send out a new one in a week or two greeting new people and making sure people didn't miss out on some of the important threads through out per season. But, I am still very interested in knowing how many wants to be involved in making something like a FIRST web-magazine. |
I'm still interested :)

so many questions...
I was just thinking, realistically what can be done, and how to make sure we don't think too big before we start doing anything?
Become a Nation wide magazine as popular as "popular science" is probably TOO BIG :P. Post weekly article by FIRSTers on a website is probably something we can do. So, where is the middle ground that's challenging, but feasible for a group of FIRSTers who only meet each other online? Also, what kind of content would there be? white papers? team history? reports from regionals? question and answer? columns? Interviews? How do we keep it from being used as teams promoting themselves? Or, should or shouldn’t we allowed teams to promote themselves by writing an article introducing their team? So many questions… |
