Re: Foreign Music

for those techno fans, some bands/djs to check out are:
Scooter
DJ Lexy (often Lexy & K-paul)
Marusha
and Takyo Ishino (don't completely remember the spelling...might be two 'y's )

Re: Foreign Music

More J-Music below:

L'Arc~en~Ciel (JPop, but they aren't bad)
Ayumi Hamasaki (JPop, but not bad either)
SADS (Something like Dir En Grey)
Kiyoharu (Solo project from someone in SADS)
Kuroyume (Solo project from someone in SADS)
NICOTINE (JPunk [Simple Plan-like])
ZZ (JPunk [Simple Plan-like also])
Park Hwa Yo Bi (Fayobi) (Not to sure...)
Miwa Yoshida (Not to sure on her either...)
Violet UK (Former XJapan drummer Yoshiki's current band)
GLAY (Not to positive...never really listened to them much)

-----------------------------------------------------------
I'll more than likely add more to my list...

As a Disney fan, especially Epcot, I find I listen to the music before Illuminations a lot. Great stuff.

Re: Foreign Music

My apologizes for bringing back this thread, but I will add more to my list of JMusic.

AYA - Never listened to them much, but hey...

Malice Mizer - Now dis-banded but they mixed like, 3 types of music into one. I'd recommend this band, along side XJapan and Dir En Grey.

DongBangShinGi (more commonly known as DBSG) - JPop...they look A LOT like theTRAX. Pretty good...can't say to much because I've only listened to "Tri-Angle".

BoA - JPop also. Again, can't say much because I only heard her in the "Tri-Angle" song. She's got a really nice voice though, better than Ayumi Hamasaki's (because BoA's doesn't crack in the high pitches like Ayumi's).

** SIDE NOTE: If you want to know what BoA, DBSG and TRAX look like, try to watch "Tri-Angle"...it can be found on ilikepop.com [site is in Japanese, but actually easy to manuever (sp?) through] **

Re: Foreign Music

I don't listen to too much foreign music, but a friend of mine got me hooked on MC Solaar. He's a French rapper. His music is pretty cool and is much more intellectual than the usual rap in the US.

I'm not a fan of true original Black metal like Mayhem or Gorgoroth. But I like satyricon and Naglfar. But some awesome folk stuff. Try Finntroll and Korpiklanni! They're awesome!
