DL: "Great, now they are talking about my wardrobe...
Yes, it's true. I just found out yesterday that I was within about a week or so of being ambushed and forced to clean up my act on national television. My "friends" had worked it with the NASA powers-that-be, and they were all set to go when the production company waved off on thier trip to DC. Whew! Coming between me and my Hawaiian shirts would be like trying to get between Dean and denim."

Analysis: As we know, the TV show "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" started this make-over movement. There are 5 guys who make over straight guys on that show. 5 guys. Again, we have a 5 connection.

Dave, or should we call you "Mr. 5", you have already said too much.

Andy B.

One problem. According to this page, Queer Eye premiered on July 15, 2003. According to this page (why doesn't Wikipedia have any mention of WNTW?), What Not to Wear first hit the (American) airwaves March 8, 2003. So What Not to Wear came first.

And before you try to get your conspiracy theories going, that's a FOUR-month gap. :p

OK... but how much do the people on WNTW get to spend on their new clothes? No, not $4,000... they get $5,000. Coincidence? hmmmm.

has anyone considered that the year we will be playing in is 2005. So there could be 5 of something.

Don't forget that competition lasts 5 weeks with the first week having 5 events. There will also be 5 fields at championship. Also the one that started the analysis was Baker (5 letters). FIRST has how many letter? The plot thickens.

I bet Dave's sitting at his desk, reading this thread right now, thinking to himself, "Man, those guys are off on their 'five' tangent - they'll never figure out the real hints. Mwahahahaha!"

[edit] See?? :p

[/edit]

:yikes:

Keep in mind ... The Law of Fives states; All things happen in Fives, or are divisible by or are multiples of Five, or are somehow directly or indirectly appropriate to Five. The Law of Fives is never wrong.

Wow that is extremely odd. Dave loves the number five.

Re: More then 2 team alliance???

To go off topic...or ON topic, should I say, there should be a 2001 style game. Less bashing and stuff, where all the teams work together to accomplish a goal. If four is too much, 3 on a field at one time (like at Ford Sweet Repeat, 2001, if I am correct) is a good idea. 2 min/match is also a good idea. Maybe 2 1/2 min? Maybe Human Players vs Bots?

You may think that team #5 will do well... But watch out for Team 555.
I sincerely hope that this is the year of the five: the year we finally win the comp/Chairman's Award.

When a network plans a show, don't they film it a few months in advance before they actually play it? I know WNTW still came before QE, but I think that the producers would have been *at least* thinking about the show a little earlier than March 8th, 2003.

Andy, isn't Pinto a little like the root Pente, meaning five?

Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave.....you are one enigmatic person.

5 eh?

Hmm.. You know, in 2001 we had 4 robots and an optional stretcher.

(Oh Please not the return of 4 against 0!!!!:ahh: :ahh: ) Can't we learn from our mistakes?

No, no, no, no, no, Elgin ... it would have to be 4 against 1. ... 4+0=4 ... 4+1=5 ;)

Which would be worse - 4v0 or 4v1? ... Yiiiiikes! :yikes:
