Can you vote?

I've seen a lot of political threads on CD but I didn't feel like looking at everyone's age in their profile. So please answer this question.

Can you vote in this Presidential election?

Re: Can you vote?

Unfortunately, I will be unable to vote in this presidential election. But keeping up with politics is important for people of any age, and I urge young people to become politically informed.

Re: Can you vote?

No, I can not vote in time. I turn 18 roughly 3 weeks after the election. But I will watch the race and stay active in the political scene and influence those of voting age to make their voices heard this election.

Re: Can you vote?

Sadly, I can't vote this year. However, I have not left this stop me from being politically active. In place of my right to vote, I have participated in informal debates and discussions with my friends that may influence those who vote, or at least encourage those who would not have otherwise to vote.

Re: Can you vote?

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

::insert obligatory "w00t!" here::

I just registered today (as unaffiliated). Granted, I should've registered last October when I turned 18, but hey, I registered. I'm voting. I suggest that everyone who can vote, does vote. Also remember that most states' voter registrations close on Sunday, so hurry up!

I'm so gorram excited, I think I'll say it one more time:

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D

Keep flying,
-Eddie

Can't, but I would like to. This is a huge election, and I wish I could take part in it. =( Unfortunately, I don't turn 18 until October 2006. So I'll be a bit late ;-)

Re: Can you vote?

Can (just barely) but don't see it as a priority since I'm registered in CT, which almost always gives its votes to the Democrats (which I'm not complaining about).

Re: Can you vote?

Nope, although I promise I will vote in 2008. I won't be able to vote in any election until 2007,though. I agree that it is good to follow politics, even before voting age. Plus, it is fun to argue with your friends about these things. :D

I strongly agree w/ Zz. As many people have said, we are the future. Also, this election effects a majority of our generation because of all the stuff that's happening (ala: war, economics, etc...)

I cannot vote either, which is really bad because I'm now finally into the politics. I do, however, pay very close attention to what each is saying. I'm doing this for all that I can.

*** In My Opinion***

I really hope all that can vote do. Whom you vote for doesn't matter what does matter is that you make you voice count. People are dying else where just to get the chance to vote and there are several out there killing to prevent it, there are wars over freedoms and many of died to offer this right this freedom to us why throw it away?

Actually, people have fought and died for the freedom to choose, and I choose not to vote. Why I've made that choice is personal and I won't write about it here, but contact me privately if you want to know more. by not voting one is making just as big of a statement as one who votes

I didn't see it that way, but you are right, but you have a reason. But there are some who can vote and don't because they have no general interest in there life and don't care about themselves and others.
