Dave,
This is greatly deserved, as you are a hero to us all. Thanks for your tireless effort. We all appreciate how approachable and available you are within the FIRST community. Your effort and personal touch to the FIRST program is an example for any FIRST mentor to admire. With great respect, Andy B. |
Re: D.Lavery wins ASME Church Medal
Dave,
When I met you last year at Kickoff, you were the first FIRST staff I had ever introduced myself to, and the one I was most nervous about. I am incredibly thankful that I did. Congratulations - although no written post on a message board can do this 'congrats' justice. AM |

Re: D.Lavery wins ASME Church Medal
Amazing Dave! You really deserve this. Many people on this thread know a lot about Dave, but many don't know about the many days throughout the year that Dave welcomes robotics kids into his house to work on projects. I think that I have spent more time in Dave's home shop then in the shop at school. He spends countless hours with his own team and countless more hours for FIRST. He is, as many have said, very outgoing and willing to talk with any member in the FIRST community.
Congrats again Dave. Keep up the good work. |
Re: D.Lavery wins ASME Church Medal

Re: D.Lavery wins ASME Church Medal
Ha! This is clearly a hint, he's try to tell us that, uh, well you see the implication of the, err, symbolic meaning... a refrence to rico suave, which, uh...
Oh forget it. Congrats Dave! |
Re: D.Lavery wins ASME Church Medal
Congrats Dave,
It is nice to see the the world is recognizing the great leadership we have in FIRST. Steve Yasick |
Re: D.Lavery wins ASME Church Medal
All -
Thank you very much for the kind words. Finding out that I had been awarded the Church Medal by ASME was quite a pleasant surprise, and not at all expected. When I look at the list of past recipients, I feel unworthy to be included in that crowd. Again, that you for your support. It is most appreciated. -dave (the above message has been certified "hint-free" by the International Confederation of Game Players) |
