Alright, one more guide and I'll be about tapped out.

BILLFRED'S GUIDE TO EATING OFF CAMPUS

These are my experiences--your mileage may vary.

Beezer's (Go up Greene, make a left at Sumter--Wardlaw College will be at your left. Cross College St., and it's on the left.): The masters of the sub sandwich. You can eat a full meal (sub, chips, drink) for five bucks--but have a couple extra for if you want the Beezer's Freeze (two chocolate chip cookies with ice cream in the middle--mind-blowingly good). They also deliver to the USC part of town if you order at least one sandwich. 771-7771 is their number.

Sandy's Hot Dogs (Go up Greene, make a left on Main, go straight): As the name indicates, it's hot dogs. Good enough for a letter from Ronald Reagan, and they're not afraid to mention it. They also do ice cream which is pretty good. Again, plan on five or six bucks. (And if you happen to get a copy of The State newspaper, they usually include massive sheets of coupons from Sandy's. I'll see what I can find.)

Wendy's (Walk up Greene--can't miss it): Self-explanatory.

Subway (Walk up Greene, cross Assembly, then immediately hang a left. Walk past the Wendy's--it's inside the Shell station): Self-explanatory.

Sonic Drive-In (Walk behind the Coliseum, take the pedestrian bridge over the street towards the Strom Thurmond WFC, then walk along Assembly--be warned, sidewalks don't go the whole way!): Self-explanatory.

That's about all of the fast food places I can think of within walking range of the arena. If I can think of more, I'll post. :D

(It's so close, I can taste it. Well, maybe I don't want to taste robots.)

OK...Palmetto is here. Let's get this thread going by hearing from all the teams traveling to Palmetto. Great teams + great venue = great fun...and the competition...well, it will speak for itself. Plans are still on for easy unloading...drive around back of Colonial Center...unload..then continue to drive around the Center. Hey...Corey, I'll have your MIM 343 shirt, size large. Just a reminder...should you forget something or need help...don't hesitate to see a Team 343 member. Please email should you have any questions...I'll be leaving for Columbia early Wed. a.m. to help with the set up. Let's get ready to rumble !!! :D

Team 11 is coming back again for what hopes to be another SWEET Palmetto Regional. We are taking a bus down (about a 15 hour drive) from NJ. Looking forward to seeing everybody there!

We are leaving, for our first time coming to Palmetto, early Wednesday morning. If everything goes to plan, we should be in good old Columbia by dinnertime that night.

I've got yours as well. I'll make sure to stop by your pit and ask for you at some point over the weekend.

I can not wait to get down there. The competition should be great, nonstop fun and action. The only downside...the 14 hour busride we need to take tomorrow and then again on Sunday... :( . Lord of the Rings trilogy (extended versions), will be played the whole ride down. Heres to good times ahead.

Yeah, the bus ride can cause the team to go a little...uhhh nuts. This is the 2nd year in a row we've done it (14 hours)...we also drove to nationals last year (17 hours) so we kind of got used to the whole bus ride deal. Last year we planned on LOTR, but you just get so sick of it. I'd suggest a wide variety of movies for the ride back.

ps...im sure we'll see you guys sometime on the ride down

Wow can't believe it's only another day or so until the regional. I can't wait to see all the teams together and see how well they'll compete. Great teams like 312, 180, 179, 1251, 343 and many more which have slipped my mind at the moment will be with us. Best of luck to all teams and hope everyone will have a blast. Let's show that Palmetto is the best competition of the whole country! Go wild and scream your hearts out, but remember safety FIRST! :D
