Since this is our first trip to Chesapeake, I'm hoping to meet a lot of new teams and see new faces (some of you who were at Ramp Riot got to meet a bunch of us)... I'm starting to taste blue crab... :D

An elegant pizza dinner will be served!
Fancy door prizes! (2 rolls of 74’ x 15’ carpet)

Thanks to all the teams that responded so quickly. We now have plenty of help. And I'm serious about the carpet. Any teams want to take some carpet home with them? Great for your practice fields, off season events. Otherwise it goes in the dumpster that night.

To everyone attending Chesapeake:
There is lots of information at www.mitc.org/first
Make sure your mentors have filled out all the paperwork for buses by March 7. No cars/trucks/vans will be allowed on the Academy. Free shuttle from the Stadium to the Field House. If you are transporting tools and are taking the shuttle, make sure registered for the "tool Shuttle" different from the people shuttle. I've been sending out regular newsletters to the mentors, but welcome any questions. We are thrilled to have a team of Americorps volunteers helping us all week. Be sure to give a big hello to these 18-24 year olds, who will be delighted to tell you about this national service program.
See you soon.

Re: 2005 Chesapeake Regional

We're all so busy when we get to a competition that we rarely have the time to meet each other and say hello... therefore NEMO (Non-Engineering Mentor Organization) wants to gather all mentors who deal with the non-engineering portions of the team (like travel, fundraising, public relations, etc.) to get together for a few minutes on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the lobby area as you enter the Navy museum. If you are facing the front doors, it will be to the left and you can get there inside or outside. I can't wait to put faces to names and to meet new people too! If the time and/or place changes, an announcement will be made and information posted at the pit administration table. Please let the NEM's on your team know about this informal gathering!

I'm having a terrible time getting the team list to come up on the USFIRST website. If someone could send me just the team numbers that would be really really great.

E-mail me at JBejtlich@gmail.com.

Thank you.

KathieK, I'll pass the message along to 116 and might stop by myself if I can get away from the field for a bit.

Everyone else going, I'll be on the field most of the time as a ref, so stop by and say hi. :)

I will have a (very small) number of limited edition "I found NEMO" buttons at the meet-and-greet at 10am on Thursday. These collectors' items will sell for large sums of money on eBay one day, I am sure! :p

Only available on a first-come, first-served basis to NEMs from your teams who have actually joined NEMO, so encourage them to sign up!

 Just three more days! Can you stand it? Our team [007] will be there, and you'll be seeing Dori and I in our lovely duct tape creations, made especially for the event.
It'd also be cool to meet some of you CDers there!

Re: 2005 Chesapeake Regional

You are allowed to bring your own food and your own coolers into the pits at Chesapeake. No food allowed in the stands. This proud tradition will continue as long as you clean up.

There is also a little snack bar in the field house, the Drydock restaurant at the Academy near the ice rink, and many places to get lunch a short walk, outside Gate 1 and into the town, right on the harbor.
Remember that if you leave the Academy grounds, you will need an id to walk back in. Anyone under 16 will need to be with an adult.
