Re: 2005 Chesapeake Regional
From watching the webcast...I copied down the elimination alliances. I missed the selection process and the ladder they put up is kind of blurry...so I apologize in advance for any mistakes. There were also two numbers that I couldn't read at all and it would be great if someone could fill those in for everyone else.
173 1027 53 104 1143 467 611 87 225 165 88 1524 ??? 1507 836 614 ??? 1629 007 122 175 203 1449 222 |

Re: 2005 Chesapeake Regional
How did 1585 do? They are a Rookie from up Rochester way. After being spectators at Finger Lakes, I knew they were pretty pumped up about attending the Chesapeake.
I hope they had an awesome time! |

WOW what an awesome competition!!!!
Team 836 would like to THANK TEAMS 316 and 1507, a strong and determined alliance. |
Re: 2005 Chesapeake Regional
The Chesapeake Regional was so much fun. I am so happy that Team 104 got to the elimination rounds and was captain. Our claw on the arm broke right before our first elimination match and couldn't fix it in time. However, I had a blast and congradulations to all teams that participated this year...

Re: 2005 Chesapeake Regional
It was such a blast. This was my first time going out to the regionals. In my opinion, we (team 1111) did really well, considering we didn't really pull together until the last parts of Friday and Saturday. If we had only listened to one guy's instructions, we would not have been a defense-only robot.
However, I thought 1111 played awesome defense. The 173 alliance took our tactic into the elimination rounds. I thought we were going to be selected because we played some really good defense and were 2-1 on Saturday (but 3-5 overall). We ended up finishing 38th. But We (from Team 1111) want to extend a round of applause to the winners, and the people who piled on the 121 points (which made Chesapeake the region to beat). |
Re: 2005 Chesapeake Regional
Just got back home... Awesome times. We managed to place 15th. Didn't get picked for an alliance, but I'm pretty sure that was because today we had a bad showing today. We won our first two matches, but we were "defense" and just kind of looked stupid. In our last match, we lost, but we did perform well. But our team is quiet, and our robot doesn't have any "OMG wow" features or designs, so I think that contrubuted as well.
I am definitely happy though, a very very good weekend, much improvement over last year, and Philly is next week. A very good time for us. I hope everyone had this much fun. |
Re: 2005 Chesapeake Regional
Our team didn't do so well, though *sigh*. If anybody noticed, for one match it didn't even move!! That was reeeeally depressing but kind of funny for moi, who is on animation and wouldn't understand a robot at all -_-. Overall I think we placed around 45th. Did so much better last year! The animation won, at least *grins*.
This was my first time going to a competition, and I really loved it. You just meet so many great unforgettable people. Saturday was the best day of my LIFE, really (or does that sound geeky?!). I fell in love with a dude from team 1542 (unfortunately the team from London) and met another dude from team RAGE who liked anime. So many great memories ^^. If nothing more than because I love my team, I'm joining robotics next year just to go to the competitions ^^. |
