Just remember for all you seniors out there, the scholarship applications for Purdue have to be received by February 1st.

Re: 2005 Boilermaker Regional

The Boilermaker Regional needs a few more volunteers.

We need people for CROWD CONTROL, ROBOT INSPECTION and a few other positions.

Talk to your parents and others involved with your team - volunteering is a great way to give back to FIRST -

I will bring it up to the planning committee to see where/how we could setup a place for it. I assume you're thinking to do this at the Team Social on Friday night.

Will there be a talent show (other than Dean Simmons)? I have an act that I can perform if there is one. Yes, it is rap, but yes, it IS FIRST-Appropriate.

Sorry, unfortunately there will not be a talent show for people to participate in. You might consider saving that for IRI if you're attending, IF they plan to have a talent show this summer.
Thanks,

So, since we are less then a week away...who do you think the "big players" will be? Who will score a vision in auto? What will the high score be?

Re: 2005 Boilermaker Regional

Big players....Hmmm....I thought we were all supposed to have the same size robots :D
Or do you mean players....We have a big student on our team :)
I hope team 45 does well and picks us to help out in the finals. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge. Know what I mean?

It's hard to say who will do well. There are a couple of ways to score and many ways to descore :(

On a different note. I will be a rookie robot inspector. I will do my best so please bear with me and be kind to me :)

Re: 2005 Boilermaker Regional

Team 548 will be there, we were at GLR last weeks and did well, we capped 6 tetras one match and at least 4 in the rest. The only team at GLR to cap in auto mode was team 66 and it was only on a side goal. We ended up getting beat in the semi's by the winning alliance, 66, 67, and 68. We also had the weekend's high score of 74 on Friday.

Re: 2005 Boilermaker Regional

All,

We are working to have a webcast available for the Boilermaker Regional this week.
We do not have a URL at this time, but please keep checking the website for an update. We may not have the webcast URL until Thursday sometime, but we hope to post one as soon as it's humanly available.

Thanks!

Re: Machine Shop

I just want to give a bit of an update and rephrase my post. I don't think I worded it as well as I could have, and some of the information I had was a bit out of date.

Purdue has a machine shop available for use for FIRST teams. Like a lot of machine shops at Purdue, several of them employee college students, and the mechanical engineering machine shop has two or three full time professional machinists who will be able to volunteer their time to help out teams who are in need of repairs for their machines.

As a notice, the ME machine shop will most likely not allow non-Purdue employees to physically use the machines available.

Those are really the main points I wanted to make.

To correct a mistake I stated before, I've been told there will be adequate welding services available.

That's that!

Matt
