3ds Install

Are we only allowed to install 3ds on a few computers for the copy that FIRST gives us? Last year I didn't have this problem since I was the sole animator, but this year I am teaching a number of other people 3ds and after I register 3ds on a few computers, then it tells me that the serial number has been registered on too many computers to register it on more.

Unfortunately, you can only install on one computer. 3ds max is not included in the 25 computer licence package that autodesk gives you. However, autodesk VIZ is included in that package, and that program is basically a less sophisticated 3ds max (or so I've heard). Here's another thread that addresses your problem.

Re: 3ds Install

I was able to install it on about three computers before it said that there were too many machines registered to that serial number. I have to connect to the internet in order to register the software (and thereby eliminate the 30 day trial thing). That's the strange thing about it. I'm talking about last year's software (R6). I've only tried installing 7 on one computer so far.
