Okay, so this post was started ages ago, oh well...my computer hasn't been working.
1) Favorite genre - emo/punk and techno
2) Favorite band - just one? nah...rocking horse winner, thursday, ozma, flogging molly (met them! YEAH!), charlotte church, roller girl, gravity kills, basement jaxx, moby, nickel creek (bluegrass band)
i'm all over the board with my music tastes...one genre is just not expressive enough
3) Favorite instrument - cello (yo yo ma all the way baby)
4) least favorite genre - someone said college music? have to agree there...or modern jazz
5) least favorite band - definately j.lo or matchbox 20. instant annoyance whenever I hear them.

well, roger waters was the lead singer/writer for pink floyd until like the mid 80s, i can't remember off hand, but when syd barrett left the spotlight (like 1969?) he was basically considered the life blood of floyd, but he quit and now david gilmour is the main dude, even though they haven't released an album since 1995. (except a couple compilations 'Pulse', 'echoes' and the wall commemorative album, 'is there anybody out there'). and in my humble opinion, roger waters is the best... gilmour is a close second though.

That was Bob Geldof from the band The Boomtown Rats. He was also the driving force behind Live AID in the 80's (concert to help out the starving in Ethiopia for those of you too young to remember).

You know the answer to that. I would like to meet gimore though because he is an awsome artist, and he plays the bass like me.

Ok So let me get this straight; Pink Floyd makes a movie, The Wall, about themselves with thier music and someone other than a band member plays Pink??? That's messed up!

well, it's not exactly about them, it's a...compilation? of things that happened to them and the people they knew throughout their lives, for example, syd barrett went insane, from drugs/fame and such, and roger waters' father was killed in WWII. also, if you've ever seen the movie, you'd know that there was a lot more messed up stuff going on(don't get me wrong, i love that movie)

ya, gilmore plays the guitar not the bass, i picked that up immediately, but wasn't sure, i had to check, and still thought you knew something i didn't until you wrote that above waters played the bass for floyd but he plays guitar too.

Dave_222 03-06-2002 13:17

Give that man a biscut. But few people know that gilmour started out playing bass but he quit afterwards he proclaimed he sucked at it and moved on to play 6 string.
