it would appear that the gear on the output shaft might interfere when you try to shift into low, as it looks like it would hit the smaller of the two "shifting" gears. keep up the good work, though.

nope the gears doesnt conflict. I have spaced it to have enough room for shifting. :)

that cylinder rod is going to bend if the gears Jam, try moving the cylinder so the piston so its in line with the shifter shaft, that means taking it out of the box. but at least it wont make you have to take your gearbox apart remove the old cylinder, find a new one and put it all back together before your next match when you bend it.

Thanks Tyty, i was thinking about it. i do have a feeling that something is going to bend. i think i am going to move the cylinder outside. i do have to think about it a bit more before i change anything. stay tune for V 1.3

Arefin,

since i've been working with you on these designs, i have seen what seemed like a rookie design turn into what seems to be a high class design. A few things im still hoping you change, is that you adapt the cylinder so it sits inside the box more and takes up less space. HOWEVER...everything seems to be amazing and FIRST class ;)

keep up the good work, and "your welcome" ;)

could you move the cylnider so it is sitting on top of the shifting gear instead of taking up space over on the side?

great idea tom, sure i can do that. but in order to do that i have to extend the plate. i dont see anything wrong with it. at this point, i am not worried about having the tranny go a little bigger, i want to perfect it. :)

are you sure? (refer to attached pic) it would appear that when you attempt to engage gears 1 and 2, gear 3 would try to mesh with gear 4. unless gear 3 has the same number of teeth and PD as the gear next to it (the one that is engaging gear 4 in the pic), then gears 3 and 4 will be unable to mesh, which would in turn stop gears 1 and 2 from engaging.

Looks good,
Only thing would be the forementioned cylinder placement and possibly a bigger gear on the CIM shaft to give the space requierd between the body of the CIM and the gear on the 1st shaft to move the motor to the other side of the plate.
Keep it rockin Arefin :) .
