Rookie Question
Hello first teams,
I am on a rookie team in idaho, and I have questions that I hope that someone will help me with. 1. Does anyone know the shipping information (weight and size limits) for the first robots tools and cart? 2. I also need to know what the limits are on how much money worth of equipment we are allowed to add to the robot kit. And if we are to calculate the extras at retail, or what we bought the parts for? I hope for someone to reply soon. Thanx alot. Joeblob |
Re: Rookie Question
Hi Joe
Let me first (pun intended) welcome you to the wonderful world of FIRST robotics. I hope you get a lot out if it and build a fantastic robot. Question 1; I'm pretty sure the weight limit for the shipping crate is 400 pounds. After that you pay for the overage. I'm not sure what the footprint is supposed to be but I know you must have two boards under your crate spaced 28" apart. This is so a forklift can move you crate around. Question 2; Go here http://www2.usfirst.org/2004comp/200..._rev3-8-04.pdf This is from last year rules but it will get you in the ballpark. Hope this helps. Wayne Doenges Drafting mentor |
Re: Rookie Question
The rules from last year are located at http://www.usfirst.org/robotics/doc_updt.htm, for now. When next years game comes out the new rules will likely go there.
As for your specific questions, the rules change every year so the answers you get now may or may not be correct for 2005. Quote:
