Strategy Programs?

Does anyone know if anyone has written a program on Palm or PC? Im looking for a more organized way to strategize besides the traditional pencil/paper technique.

Im a fan of the Dry Erase board and magnetic pieces for strategy

yes, team 624 has developed a strategy/scoring program for use on any flash enabled device (we use it on a pocket pc). Please visit http://scoring.cincorobotics.com or download a zip file containing the program and a tutorial on how to use it in the white papers section.

Strategy Program

Bryan Lee from BAE Systems (teams 151 and 166) has posted a program in the white papers area. I know it has been updated since the post so if you are at UTC this weekend, look him up for an update - or stop by either of our pits.

i don't know how much this will matter now, but FIRST has an "offical" point-scorer, just go to usfirst.org and hunt for it there. I use it when i am bord, and it is cool. All the colors, field, balls, goals, are all playable, it is very cool!!

We, the thunderchickens, have developed a eexcel based scouting program. It has approximatly 15 categories and creates a score and then ranks the robots. At chicago we scouted EVERY team EVERY match. Currently with the help of the rest of Team Ford we will be scouting ALL the divisions and ALL the teams. Any team interested in data is welcome to help us scout in exchange.
if interested please contact me.

oops my bad. we are only scouting the teams in our division. anyone interested in the scoutning program can still contact us or me.

Team 435, kudos to them, they have some sort of "on the fly" strategy program which determines the most effective course action at any given a any situation in any match. I didn't actually see the program running, but it was very helpful in winning matches and getting high QPs when we were on their team. I don't know the details about its inputs, so you'll have to ask them.

How is it that you 'rank' the robots? On score, reliabillity of systems, etc. One thing we found effective was taking note the reliability of each of their systems as the competition progressed. This way, we know exactly what systems they have actually used in competition and whether or not we canrely on that system. This has been a great help in preventing a team from failing at something in competition that they said they could do (I think we all have that problem at least once before). What's your take on this?

our scouting program has categories such as # balls, goals, power, speed, traction, agility, type of bot, off, def, extendors etc and a section for notes. The program assigns a value (i.e15 for high, 10 for average, 5 for low) With adjustments for what we were looking for to pick teams for finals. at chigaco, our program had beatty in 2 rank( They won the competition) just to give you an idea. the notes help us the most for match planning.it helps us tell if a team can match its claims.

Palm Database by team 312

Please stop by team 312's pit and we will show you our palm database system. The system includes a screen of the field that allows the user to draw on the screen.
