Actually.. Yellowish Paint.

Beatles reference - Yellow Submarine
edit: Sgt. Pepper is similar to the character in the game Clue's Col. Mustard

Pyramids reference - Usually seen as a yellow or goldish color on images

Hm, guys. Maybe first just wants to do a whole, big Beatle's escapade of a game?

Only a few more days....

(btw list is on the Advanced materials thread)

What if the drivers have to wear glasses with purple tint and the alliances were not disclosed. Then, everybody would have to find who their alliance. What a nightmare this could be but there were always complaints about pre-strategizing by some people. I'm not so sure of how far in depth they will go with this but imagine sitting in the stands, knowing who is allianced and watching your drivers play the game not knowing their alliance. Also, last year F.I.R.S.T made the new RC's that they can change the color through their controls, allowing know one to know alliances until the game began. Let me know what you think.

that glasses idea would add a great twist, but after one game everyone would know the difference, unless the robots emmit a light like last year, but its only visable with the glasses

God, this is weird. I feel so insignificant when I see the progress made. One small contribution, if it hasn't been mentioned.
An alternate definition of "pi" is
Main Entry: 3pi
Function: adjective
1 : not intended to appear in final printing <pi lines>
2 : capable of being inserted only by hand <pi characters

Col. Mustard, eh? "Mean Mr. Mustard". :yikes:

Only by hand, eh? Perhaps another human element this year? Assuming it said "you and me" are between pi, perhaps the bots have to move something(or themselves?) out of the way of some sort of goal, then bring balls back to the people on respective teams, similar to last year with more room for trechery and defense.

If one looks through Purple-colored glasses, one cannot see yellow things. Purple colored glasses let through purple colored light, and yellow is the exact opposite. The advance materials list contains a yellowish paint. I have NO IDEA what this means, but it has to mean something.

I have a feeling we're all going to be very disappointed when we find out what the competition is this saturday. We've all been thinking a bit too hard on this. I'm preparing myself for a good laugh though.

The orangish-yellow paint might look black through the amethyst colored glasses. Does that indicate anything?

Disappointed?!?!

no way, I look at this stuff as a way to get psyched for the kickoff. Most posts are way off, but it is interesting to see different patterns and relations that people come up with

besides, FIRST always makes a game that is 100 times better than what we think of, I will always be amazed

I'm doing this as something fun to do this week.

I'm sure we're way off with the game. It fun to have conspiracy theories though.

Maybe, the game will have something to do with Elvis and UFOs :D

Re: Official 2005 Clue Thread

I know I sort of posted it as a joke sometime back in the 370's, but I'm beginning to think that I might not have been too far off with the whole autonomous in the middle of the game. (Felt it had to be mentioned at lease once more, since every other theory has been mentioned 20X min. :o ) Since there's not too much inexplicable stuff on the materials list, it seems even more likely that the clue might have to do with a non-physical game element.

I still can't explain the ugly yellow paint tho, and I can't help but think it's key...Has FIRST ever just put a random item on there just to throw everyone off? lol Even if they haven't, this clue is WAY more complicated than last year's, so I'm not sure I would put much past Dave...
