Normally I am no good at guessing the meaning of clues, even when they are obvious. Devious Dave's clues are almost always completely opaque to me.

But, I have to ask - did the 'amethyst colored glasses' referred to in the clue have any connection to aviator's 'amethyst contrast enhancement (A.C.E.) ' glasses used to enable better differentiation of colors on instrument panels?

Just wondering.

At this point, I'll defend my reputation as a nit-picker by reminding the group that I ran through Dave's posts with a fine-toothed comb for FIRST Frenzy well after the 2004 FRC season was complete. Here's my original post:
