Mentor Nicknames

I'm curious as to if any teams have special nicknames that they give to their mentors, like our main mechanical mentor is Bob the Builder (He has the bob the builder song too) and our Highschool advisor is Tiny Tim.

Team 237 has nicknames for almost every mentor and student on the team. It helps relieve stress and make the job go by much quicker. Ex: Kurt = Kurtbot, Gary = Guido, Ted = Teddy B, Kevin Shaw = Shaw 1, Scott Shaw = Shaw 2.... etc. We try to keep them close to their real names so newbies and guests can understand who we are talking about.

At one point, two of our team members named ever person on the team after some Disney character. I got Jiminy Cricket.

Re: Mentor Nicknames

our entire team has nicknames! we have nickname buttons that everyone on the team wears, (i.e. mine is Lexy, while my brother's is/was CrazyBear) if we dont pick our nicknames, then someone else usually chooses them for us; but for the most part the nicknames stick. especially if there are two people on the team with the same first name, the nicknames help distinguish whos who for the most part. we had a student on the team for all 4 high school years, and even as a senior (he just graduated last year) people still called him "stupid freshman" because that was his nickname. :) we have a person on the team who always brings donuts, so ben will forever be known as "the donutman" i knew him by that nickname before i knew his real name. we call our coach, mrs. p, "grandma" (its a term of respect.. really!) :D nicknames help keep us more of a close knit family type thing... although its mostly the students who have nicknames.

Aha! Awesome!

Our team named me after Tigger from Winnie the Pooh, cause I'm one of those people who get hyper with the less sleep they have. My friend Bonnie has been Flea since we were in FLL together. My friend Dennis is Rice Krispy boy since he loves rice krispy treats. Chase is Womanizer since he hits on everyone. Liz is Zany, and there's so many more that I can't think of them all right now! *runs around trying to make a list*

Everyone on our team has a nickname of some sort. A lot of them have really awesome stories behind them, and it's a great way to kinda talk to people you don't nkow as well by bonding over hilarious nickname stories. For example, one of my nicknames is Frolicker. I of course take this to be based on the word "Frolic", as in, "To romp about joyfully". However, many people take this is Fro Licker, and therefore, there have been some awesomely hilarious mixups at competition. :).

Our team has some nicknames...
Kiwi, Rico Suavé, Prince Charming, Enriqué. That is all I can think of now but there are probably more.
