Okay, I'll submit another entry (especially since Elgin took off with mine and made it better...) Does this mean that Gary is now in trouble? I know it wasn't really a feat of engineering, however he is an engineer and he has feet, feet which did walk him to his computer, so have you guessed where I'm going with this now... feet of engineering... Sigh. Never mind, here's my new entry:

Headline story from the January 22, 2005, Boston Herald: "approximately 1,917 people around the country were suddenly struck blind earlier today. The sudden cases of sympathic blindness are believed to have been occured when the group realized that the image they had been closely examining was not an image of a tatooed bicep, but actually a close-up photograph of "Jon-Va-Noon's" thigh in all it's flexing glory. Physiologists are not sure how long the effects may last. Said one, "we are still trying to figure out if the optic shock they have experienced was due to the realization of what might lie just off-frame of the image, or the fact that a thigh could be that nasty looking. Either way, the recovery from the blindness is sure to be followed by years of therapy."

Well, this was an eventful caption contest. Near-death experiences, rulings on what is or isn't a feat of engineering, and more candidates for the burn award than I've seen in a long time.

Which makes it really freaking hard to pick a winner--but I guess I'll have to try! So first place goes to...

Now, I'm going to experiment a bit this week. Usually I'm really loose with honorable mentions, and quite often I've toyed with the idea of trimming back on them.
