Ha! I am ready! You will not topple my short might!
In other news, this has happened before. I have been used for catch. I am short. Perhaps it can be the entertainment portion of the webhug? Who can throw Genia the furthest, eh... |
Re: The 2005 Play-Catch-With-Genia-In-Atlanta Thread
I am game.
...after we are done with her, can I hang her upside down? :) -Arefin. |
Re: The 2005 Play-Catch-With-Genia-In-Atlanta Thread
Of course you can hang me upside down. Then I'll get taller, thus ruining the purpose. Seriously, I have a few rules for volunteers:
1) Safety first. Yes, I can do gymnastics. No, this is not the matrix. So uh, no throwing off of high places. Just a simple happy game of catch. 2) All in good fun! If you have tension, I prefer you take it out with me over PM (not in this thread) prior to the throwing contest, for the sake of my functionality in pit design. 3) :P. Billfred, I still win... |
Re: The 2005 Play-Catch-With-Genia-In-Atlanta Thread
Can we turn this into a yearly tradition, like the CD web hug?

Re: The 2005 Play-Catch-With-Genia-In-Atlanta Thread
Play-Catch-with-Genia?
that has always been my favorite game! even since way back in the day! I can remember sitting out on a hot summer day, and then we would roll Genia into a ball and start a nice little game called "don't drop Genia!" or "DDG" for short. I would definitely be up for volunteering for this event. You guys can get ahold of me for some help if you need it. I can probably even bring in some recruits from my team (since they all met her at kokomo!). Now i have 2 reasons to count down till nationals! Andrew M- |
Re: The 2005 Play-Catch-With-Genia-In-Atlanta Thread
This sounds like a lot of fun. The first time I actually meet Genia face-to-face, she could be rolled into a ball, flying through the air! (note: I, too, am short, but I would not like to be thrown. I have no sport skills except for bowling and mini-golf, so I have a feeling I would just hurt myself. I'm quite clumsy as it is. Let's not add becoming airborne to the mix).

I can see a new national sports phenomena coming...

Re: The 2005 Play-Catch-With-Genia-In-Atlanta Thread
As long as we're on the topic of tossing Genia, we should also do the web glomp which if i understand this correctly she defines it as:
Yummmmmmmm GLOMP: glomp: An affectionate tackle-hug. A combination of pounce, tackle, huggle and squish. |
Re: The 2005 Play-Catch-With-Genia-In-Atlanta Thread
Count me in for this historic occasion, the first WebGlomp!
|
Re: The 2005 Play-Catch-With-Genia-In-Atlanta Thread
Sounds like fun! I glomp my friends all the time at school ^.^
|
Re: The 2005 Play-Catch-With-Genia-In-Atlanta Thread
I'm short too, but I wouldn't wanna be thrown. I'm not as skinny as Genia is...
But hey I'll definitely join in, if I can throw and catch her...oh boy.. If I break any bones of yours, Genia..I apologize. <3 |
Re: The 2005 Play-Catch-With-Genia-In-Atlanta Thread
Do we actually have to throw her or can we shoot her out of a cannon like they do at the circus?! :p :yikes:

Re: The 2005 Play-Catch-With-Genia-In-Atlanta Thread
Whatever you guys want.
Remember, I only have to grow 1/8 of an inch until I hit 5'2". LOL Dori! I'm a freaking kosher vegitarian! I can't even hit 5'2"! -_-. I'm the little caboose that couldn't! But like said, I'm imposing when I stand on top of a box. |

Re: The 2005 Play-Catch-With-Genia-In-Atlanta Thread
Only in FIRST will you see this.
I'll stop by and say hi - but I don't know about playing catch with another human. I've been known to be quite rough on stuff...;):D |
Re: The 2005 Play-Catch-With-Genia-In-Atlanta Thread
Geez people......sometimes short people can be the scariest....you REALLY sure you want to play catch the anybody? Besides which...it can get out of hand and downright scary when people do that type of thing....at least in the end. /me thinks back to being the center of one of the CD Web hugs a few years back for being the shortest person there. And on a further more happy note...I would like to remind everybody there are shorter people in first. For instance Im only 4'9".
|
Re: The 2005 Play-Catch-With-Genia-In-Atlanta Thread
LOL
Thank goodness, I was worried I was too short. Short people pride. Of course it's all in good fun, no worries. I think... *runs* - Genia |

Ed reminded me, I grabbed her, and Genia caught air...for about .01 seconds until Pat McCarthy caught her. So yes, we played catch with Genia in Atlanta. Let's make it bigger and better for 2006! |

But first, you'll have to perfect cloning and perform it on Big Mike (or possibly Brandon Martus) before you'll have two people strong enough to lift me up, much less cause air time. :D On an unrelated note, I want to note that Pat McCarthy of HOT was the person to catch Genia. His team then went on not only to win the Championship, but also take home the Chairman's Award. I guess we need to make this an annual thing! |
Re: The 2005 Play-Catch-With-Genia-In-Atlanta Thread
Whoever took a pic of that, let me know. I'm looking for a new W A I pic. I had fun being "thrown"
