Best Techno Song
 

I know at the competitions they always play alot of techno remixes. I remember last year at nationals two songs that they played alot were Take it to da house by Trick Daddy, and Sandstorm by Darude. Anyone else have any favorites that they like to listen to?

The list goes on and on and on.
I loooove techno. Too hard to pick favorites tho.

Mars & Mystere, Aphex Twin, DieselBoy, DJ Shadow, Kid 606, Photek, The Chemical Brothers...

The list goes on and on, and those are just artists.

There's no one good techno song.

There're also too many sub-genres of techno to have a single song represent them all.

IDM != Happy Hardcore
Speedcore != Acid House
However, they're all considered techno.

Good luck getting a consensus about a "best" track.

Hmmm, this thread didnt really go the way i thought it would. Maybe i phrased it wrong. I was hoping to get some of you to share with all of us your favorite techno songs to listen to. Not the best, just your personal favorites. Ive got one. Anyone ever heard teh Price is Right Techno Remix?

My favorite would have to be Darude - sandstorm.

Anyway, there is a techno song they played at a few of these regionals, manly Silicon Valley and Nationals, and i can't seem to figure out the name of it maybe you can help me, and it's not sandstorm. It bearly has any words if any at all in it, but here's the beat in type:
(real fast) da da da da da da da da da da, (then) ba ba ba ba ba ba ba buh ba ba ba buh ba ba ba buh ba ba ba ba ba, and then so on, It's like real hard to describe it, but that's the best i can do. I go crazy if i hear a techno song somewhere and can't figure out the name of it.

Okay, I'm no expert on the technicalities of genres, but since when are Orbital and Underworld considered "trance"?

I dunno..that's just what i say..lol..by US standards they are trance..but UK standards they are techno..mainly b/c in the US we have pop-techno..so..yea

I like DJ Kal, a local DJ, and others, but it is very, very hard to pick 1. Uuuuuuuummmmmm, i like remixes of dance songs, like amber, Joslyn Enriques (sp)...

I've been listening to a lot of Vocal Trance recently (I usually switch genres I listen to every few days) and been loving "Clear Blue Water (a1 vinyl promo)" ay Ocean Lab. But yeah, it's really hard to pick a favorite techno song, it all depends on the mood. I got favorites from sub-genres though. :D

Personally, I like Fragma ft. Maria Nubia- Everytime you need me. That's a great song.. the beginning starts out techno and then goes into voice.. but it's got a good beat and it makes me happy.. There's this one song by Danielle "something" and I don't know the title but it sounds like N'Sync singing it.. don't ask.. but I want to know the name of it.. Also, I like DJ Slammin' Shaun (Local), and then there's Dj Infinity, Dj Baby Anne, Dj Icey, Dj Mike B, Dj Kenny Styles, Gigi De Augistino (sp?), and Dj Krazy K (my Dj Name) but I haven't done much.. Still trying to figure out how to do a certain move.. blah.. too much work.. haha..;)

I like Drum N' Bass too.. and Trance, Bass, Booty, Hip Hop, Rap, R&B, and others.. I'm really not too picky but I do listen to techno/trance mostly.. Right now I have Techno Bass Cd in my car.. it sounds so good with my 2 Audio Bahn 10's with a 600 watt amp pushing them.. They sound even better in my friend's truck who has 4 Solo B's (by Kicker) 12's with 1500 watts pushing them.. they're loud... about 180 dB and that's only on voice.. hehe.. Anyways.. Yeah.. that's what my personal Fav. is.. I just like them all.. :D

I don't even know the names of most of the techno songs I like.. i just stream it from the rave sites i know about.. but yea.. the NYC Underground CD's aren't too bad... and the UK Dance stuff is good.. House.. Deep House.. Trance.. all quality

I would be willing to bet that the song you are refering to is DJ Jean - The Launch. It is one of my favorites, along with sandstorm.

"For An Angel" by Paul Van Dyk. (E-Week Club Mix) Feel the warm goodness... if you like techno, im sure you've either heard this song before, or you need to right now.

"Xpander" by Sasha, "Sunblind" by BT, and "Beachcoma" by Hybrid are among my all-time favorites as well.

Just wondering--are there any gabber fans out there? The stuff is a bit too hardcore for me personally, but I was curious to see...
My favorite stuff - mostly trance, like fragma, miss jane, roller girl. but I also like a lot of the early moby stuff (like next is the e and go), prodigy, and basement jaxx.

I dont know if I can really call myself a "fan" or gabber, because I only have three or four tracks which would qualify on my computer, but what I have, I like.

Every once in a while you just need a pick-me-up at 500mph into a brick wall... :D
