Ordering Fisher Price Motors

So, I think from everything that I have read, the model number for the fisher price motor this year is: RS-550PF-8021

Anybody know where I can order these? Is there an official FIRST approved site to make sure I get the right motors? I searched and searched but couldn't find any threads on ordering this years FP motors.

Thanks!

I called them just now. Everything they offer is on the website so that would be a no for the FP. Does anyone else have a source? Paul?

Power Wheels Service Center Locator

Go HERE to find the Power Wheels Service Center nearest you.

I suggest that you bring the motor & transmission with you.

Also, if they follow the rules from F-P you may have to bring a "to whom it may concern" document that says you are buying them for a FIRST robot and you will not install them on a Power Wheels product.

In the Detroit area, the local dealer we use in McNichols Electric on 13 Mile near Beaumont Hospital.

For what it is worth.

Just a similiar motor, not the motor and gearbox combination.

You need this combination # to order them from a Fisher Price service center.

The local center here only has 8, 16, 19, and 21 gear tooth motors. Does any one know of another place they have been successful getting a motor from?

Thanks!

McNichols informed my buyer that the 13 tooth version has been discontinued (obsolete) and is no longer available to them from FP. So, the buyer opted for the closest alternative - 16 tooth. Alas, they have last year's motor, but we're forced to use them in practice since the kit motor wants to blow the final stage gear through the side of the transmission.

We and some other teams are in contact with FIRST team support about the unavailability, poor performance at < 12v, and risks of flying parts at the competitions. Hopefully, they'll see the writing on the wall and follow the path of least resistance by allowing us to use last year's FP.

ATTN: Hartford, CT area teams.

I have located a supplier who has this year's motor/transmission combo in Hartford. This is the actual one supplied by FIRST in the KOP I picked some up this afternoon to verify before posting. The contact information is below. Speak with Dick identify that you are calling from a FIRST team and what team.

HARTFORD ELEMENT & APPL
1500 ALBANY AVENUE
HARTFORD , CT 06112
(860) 246-7424

Please don't inundate them with out of town calls or harass them. They were extremely helpful and I don't want to cause them any trouble. I just wanted to pass word out the quickest way I could.

We have an unused 2005 Fisher Price motor that we'd like to trade for a 2004 Bosch drill motor.
