Team 116's Tetras
Did anyone else find that the tetras were really difficult to make? I thought they would be so easy... I made the parts in Inventor, then assembled them. Pieces would intersect wrong, or the angles weren't right, so I'd tweak one end, and the other would get messed up.
Then I added the Inventor to Max pluggin, and imported the files. They would look fine untill I re-opened the Max file, and there would be a weird crease in the objects. So I fixed them in Inventor, or at least thought I did, but the problem happened again. I finally solved it by welding all of the vertices then applying the smooth modifier. Well, here they are, with all end connectors and details: ![]() Special thanks to Petek for posting his 30 inch tetra - it helped me see how to make my own. |

that looks really good, I'm not sure but it looks the like the vision tetra is smaller then the regular one. I might just be blind/stupid though. I wish i could make something like those.

Re: Team 116's Tetras
I believe you might be half right. While I did follow the measurements given by FIRST, now that I look at it, the plastic on the vision tetra is a little thinner then it should be. That's easy enough to fix.
Since I based these off of Petek's model, I'd be happy to share them with anyone who wants them. I don't have a place to store the files at the moment, but can email anyone who PM's me with a request for either the max or inventor files. |
