THE FIRST AND ONLY PALMETTO FANTASY FIRST LEAGUE (so far!)
 

Alright, so I couldn't let my home regional go unmentioned. It's quite an impressive list, IMHO. (I hear there's this one team going there, twelve-ninety-something, that's got some hot stuff coming up. :])

There are 40 teams signed up, so I'm going to set the size of the league at twelve, just in case anyone drops at the last second. (To paraphrase Wyclef Jean, when you walk into the Palmetto, anything can happen. What, what, say what, say what, anything can happen.)

Standard Fantasy FIRST rules apply, and since nobody had mentioned how they'll handle it...

Alright, just to get some dates on your calendar...

I'm going to close signups on the Monday after next (which would be March 14), with a draft occuring March 18th, which is the Friday of Week 3 of regionals. If you are competing that weekend, or just otherwise can't make it, you can either PM me your rank-ordering of teams (team list here) before then or submit to luck of the draw, courtesy of my TI-83 Plus. Any trades are allowed between you actually having a team to trade and 9:00 PM March 30 (the night before Palmetto).

NEWS FLASH!

I was looking at the FIRST team list today, and it appears that two teams have dropped Palmetto.

Teams 147 (Collmandoman, round 2) and 1436 (Genia, round 3) are no longer on FIRST's list, but there's only one team still in the draft pool. And since the draft is completed, I think it'd be quite silly to drop the last person in (jessjank.) now.

Here's my proposal: In the place of 147 and 1436, create two dummy teams, 8888 and 9999. Each of them will score the average score of all the teams over the course of the regional.

Thoughts? Comments?

You could also allow each of them to pick another team that was picked in the same round that the now defunct team was picked in and just have two people with those teams. Unless of course, either or both of them want the left over team.
