MPLAB on USB flash drive

Im just curious, has anyone installed MPLAB on a USB flash drive and been able to run it from there? I've been trying for a few days, I just wanna know if it's possible. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

I believe that MPLAB installs some DLL's to the system directory. Did you get MPLAB to attempt to run? If so, it hopefully would tell you what's missing. If not, maybe a dependancy walker could help you figure out what's missing.

I also believe that MPLAB may use the registry to store toolkit paths and such.

Basically, no. MPLAB won't work so well. But the MCC18 compiler should work fine.
