First guess, your using a FP to power your arm

Re: pic: Team 830 Rat Pack Teaser

Thats a HUGE sprocket attached that FP gearbox. So obviously, you are just trying to waste weight and space or are going for a HUGE gear up.

But why?

Re: pic: Team 830 Rat Pack Teaser

Just to let you know, the sprocket has been changed, but is still the same size.

My guess is you all are planning on being overweight......interesting strategy.....i like it

pakrat 30-01-2005 23:28

Re: pic: Team 830 Rat Pack Teaser

WE might have a different plan than being overweight, but thats just my guess

Who ever said that? Besides, the sprocket in that picture has since been replaced with an aluminum one.

Also, we are not using all of the supplies on that rack (at least not on the same robot.) You'll just have to seee our special twist at the regionals :D :D :D

We are using most of the supplies on that rack somewhere, though...

that's a lot of material-- i would like to say though it very organized on that rack. good job with that but a huge sprocket, i can't imagine right now what you guys are doing. i look forward in finding out. if you guys have multiple bots that'll be interesting. have fun and good luck guys!

pakrat 31-01-2005 17:12

Re: pic: Team 830 Rat Pack Teaser

having multiple bots :ahh: :ahh: don't scare us into doing it... WE could make two completely different robots that wigh 60lbs each, and use a random one in any given match...

Ok so are you making a new robot cart too this season?

Karthik1 31-01-2005 18:56

Re: pic: Team 830 Rat Pack Teaser

We haven't bought the material for our cart.

pakrat 31-01-2005 21:13

Re: pic: Team 830 Rat Pack Teaser

Although we may be using some odds and ends from this on part of our cart...

pakrat 01-02-2005 14:55

Re: pic: Team 830 Rat Pack Teaser

Thats a little bit tricky, we don't want to post any thing until we're 100% that its working... But i hope you like our teaser!!

I'll give you a hint... it looks nothing like the picture that we posted in the teaser ;)

We are, however, mounting a sprocket to the F-P gearbox....

Wow you guys have alot of material, good luck and ill see you at the regionals Huron.

Evan Austin 09-02-2005 17:07

Re: pic: Team 830 Rat Pack Teaser

Wow, you guys must be really brave to use a sprocket that size on a fisher price motor :ahh: , I wonder what size sprocket you are driving with this combination. Unless you are doing something with this setup that requires very little power, I think you are going to see magic smoke coming from that thing.

Re: pic: Team 830 Rat Pack Teaser

well heres my thorey...

that sprocket is going to turn their turret for an arm, the FP will be mounted straight up and down, and the sprocket will turn their arm turret

Sorry it took so long, but we finally figured out how we are going to mount the sprocket to the FP.
