Or a device to shift weight from one side of their robot to the other so they do not get tipped over. :)

It looks like it could be the base for a scissor lift. Are you using the CIMs as drive motors or for your mechanism?

I'm guessing that it is to attach an arm to, so the arm can move forward or back to shift the CG.

It really looks like it is a scissor lift and also for weight to be rolling to stop from tipping so easy when the lift is at full height.
