Inventor Submissions
The submissions.... Do they have to be all original? I want to know if we can use parts that were downloaded from first cad library? Please write back on the topic!

Re: Inventor Submissions
Yes, you can use FIRST CAD library files. Otherwise, what would be the use of it? (Besides some really cool inventor work to look at)

Re: Inventor Submissions
Expanding on Daniel's reply, you can use Inventor files from other sources. Besides being cool to look at, it is just plain smart to use the resources you have at your disposal.
Just watch out for correctness - some parts may not be the same as in this year's kit, like the window motors. It is a very good idea to make sure you give credit where it's due and absolutely never take credit for someone else's work (GP). Speaking of really cool Inventor stuff, check out Charles Bliss' Inventor Site where there's a wealth of downloadable parts (though some are in Inventor v9 now). |
Re: Inventor Submissions
Thank you guys both for sending back to me. I appreciate your help.

Re: Inventor Submissions
One reason that you may want to make the pieces (at least in the offseason) is it can be a good learning experience for new inventor users. For example, making an easy (yet time-consuming) part such as the breaker panel can help students learn about 2D sketch constraints, 2D features (such as mirrors), and extrusions, as well as the hole feature. However, during the season, this probably would not be a good idea because time's a-wasting.
