Suggestions on a Logo

My robotics team is working closing with the school's art club, (in fact, all art club members also count as Robotics team members) and I just saw the T-shirt design yesterday. It is a very sweet looking picture for a T-shirt, they did an excellent job. I have a question though, I asked if they had a Team logo, and they suggested that the T-shirt design should also be the team logo as well. I think the design is awesome for T-shirts but, in my opinion, does not satisfy the properties of a corporal logo used to put on other things like the team donation form. The design is a 5-color design (I have not asked permission to say what the picture looks like, so I'll refrain from doing that at this time) and is fairly busy. I'm attaching something a little more of what I had in mind. It was done completely in Paint. If any of the hundred of you out there that are awesome at photoshop would like to touch up this very rough design for me I'd be grateful. From what I remember from my digital design class I took, logos should start at the bottom left corner and end at the top right corner. I know I am catching myself on my own "it has a lot of colors and is busy" rule, so suggestions are appreciated. If nothing else, it will make a very cool button!

Thanks.

BTW- you may need to save the picture, open it in Paint, and look at it in Large view to get more of what I was going for.

Hmmm...awesome idea. :)

I'm not sure if this will help or not, Here's something I whipped up in Fireworks...not sure if you'll like it. I'd suggest keeping it simple (as in, not Photoshop from here to Kingdom Come) because if you ever want it printed on shirts/mugs/anything else, most places will want vector files (like Illustrator, Fireworks, etc. and usually not Photoshop) with as few vector points as possible. Colors aren't an issue, but the less colors = the less $$$ you'll spend on printing.

This is one color, but I/you can color it up however you want. :)

This one would be better for black and white copies, and I'll keep in mind the firework thing. I don't have fireworks myself, but I'll save this one and keep it in mind. I'm thinking it might be too plain for the tastes of the rest of the team, but I think this helps toward getting on the right track.

Pick a logo!

We now have three variations of a logo that I'd like to ask the community which they think looks best. Please post which of the three is your favorite logo.

Thanks all!

The third one, is the best with the team number on the sides, also the middle one is a close 2nd.

i'm a fan of the second one, third is a close second.

I prefer the third, mainly because I don't like to see numbers getting broken up.

I'm going out on a limb and saying I'm not a fan of any of the three. The "Harmony Hurricanes" is too small in the middle. Even were it larger, the eye would still be distracted by the graphics surrounding it. I think you might consider dropping the slogan around the outside and replacing it with your name. I'm not certain that slogans really belong on logos anyways, but if they do, they should be secondary to getting your name across.

i agree... i think it would look good with just the numbers in a large font across the top and the picture of the hurricane underneath. i dont like the numbers broken up in the second one and there is no need to list the team number twice like the third one.

well, good luck with whatever design you choose
