I love it, let's get started now.
So, first, we need to get the blueprints and patent information from ExplodingDog, then we'll be all set!

um....your title says engineer...correct???

now i hate the be a buzzkill to this thread, but when you became a mentor there was a part about not holding bias opinions toward students...i dont think this tread and or picture demostrates it very well....
Now, yes there are those occaisional times when students cna become a handful, but saying "this would be the best robot ever built to kill freshman" deffinatly NOT acceptable...
i am sorely ashamed...

EDIT:
Apparently i wasnt quick enough to type this...

I dont care about using it for the tournament, just use it as a....prototype to test a program for the robot. All we have to do is make sure that the only people in the room are some other people.

My god. I am deeply disturbed at the some of the things FIRSTers say.

Someone posts a ridiculous comic obviously intended to be humurous and people respond by saying "it is not GP" or "against the ideals of FIRST". What the heck?

How is a 15 year old an engineer? Please change your team role. It is disrespectful to real engineers for you to say you are one.

You're making yourself look bad here, I suggest you stop.

This is a forum for FIRST conversations. FIRST is based on morals that are meant to inspire and enrich today's youth. While I admit, I find this picture a bit funny as shown in my last post, I tend to agree with everyone else that CD is not the place for this kind of picture to be shown.

If the mods of CD share my opinion, then it will be removed.

If they don't, then it will stay.

None-the-less, your comment about getting mad at someone just for the way they fell about the deep morals for FIRST is out of line.

There are always two sides to a story. Please try to think at least a little about both of them before you post so selfishly.

Ok thats really disturbing...why do people have to post this non-sense? really? things liek that get to me and piss me off. u all kno wht is right and wrong for wht to say and post on here...so why make stupid posts? can answer that? then dont post at all. if u got nothin right to post then dont post at all. again im a laid back person...but when it comes to these kind of bad post/drawing/pictures that offend others i get pretty mad and take a stand.

Not only is it disrespectful to say you are when you arnt but it is also disrepswectful to calssify yourself as such a positioon then make such a demeaning response towards freshmen as that they should be eatten. I know freshemn can get on your nerves some times but that is just becuase they are so excited to be on the team and get to do stuff. If you channel their excitment/annoyance properly a lot of good can come from freshmen, both in ideas for robots and actually building the robots. PLus freshmen are never so pridful that they will refuse to do "menial tasks" such as filing or cleaning up where as some Seniors feel they are above that sort of stuff yet it is stuff that needs to be done. I have had more problems with prideful upperclassmen then humble and excited freshmen!

I suggest you compare the following quotes. I cannot really find any fundamental differences:

I dont know what to say anymore...

Max first of all i dont know if your last post was supposed to be sarcastic or what, i had some respect for you...but now, i have really lost that respect for being so rude to fellow firsters for doing the right thing..

If i were you, i would probably stop posting these things before professionals look upon this and terminate any future you may have...

dont even think about negative repping me either...because you have no ground to say anything...

Greg doesnt know what to say, but I got one thing to say...

"Can we end this year and delete this thread?"

The starter of this thread can delete his post... if he delete post within 24 hours the thread is going to be deleted on its own.

Guys you just riped some poor kid apart. Its a $@#$@#$@#$@#ing paint drawing, not a list of the people he wants to kill. Jesus christ, hes probably only like 13-14? You know freshmen post on these board too. Sure it minght be a dumb joke, but don't rip his $@#$@#$@#$@#ing $@#$@#$@# out, thats not what first is about either. I do agree that he shouldnt have enineer as his team role if hes still astudent, but do you really need to go crazy?

Ok, I don't agree with the idea of the picture either. However, I think the worst thing is the language that is used in response. Lets be a little professional here and watch the language. I believe that using profanity is against the rules of Chief Delphi, and you don't know who may be reading these posts.

Great post Pat! I was thinking the same thing. Please the creator of the thread, close the thread before this all gets even more out of hand then it already is...

I agree, some of the words that are used in this post or even characters used to cover up words, are not something that belong on this forum unless used in a joking manor. The pic wasn't right to post here and now the person who posted knows that. leave it at that. Those of you who are arguing and pointing out each others stupid (not to sound mean at all) quotes should do that on AIM or PM each other, its not something that people in FIRST like to see.
I feel bad to adding on to this thread but i felt like I had to speak my mind.

Does everyone know that this is from explodingdog.com? Does everyone know what the concept of that site is?
You send the artist a title, and he draws a picture of it.

Know what not to post? Sure if he posted a picture of some guy ripped in half by a forklift or other machinery saying it was the best robot ever it would be inappropriate, but its a paint drawing. Trying to be funny? Sure its a dumb joke, but your rationale is the reason kids get expelled from school for playing cops and robbers and pointing a chicken nugget at another kid and saying "bang". Who give s a$@#$@#$@#$@#? Lighten up.

Fair enough.. so that means the picture was a potluck pic, but it did have intent.

If it were me, I wouldn't have shared this with the general FIRST community though.

Live and Learn... :)

Don't be that guy who starts threads that will go downhill fast.

<ughh.. why do I keep responding to this.... Should have stayed away from the beginning. Oh well, live and learn on my part too.. :o >

It was a dark and stormy night. The ChiefDelphi forums were being ravaged by the effects of the Man Eating Robot's presence in their community. Widespread panic, paranoia, and irrational behavior were spreading throughout the people of the neighborhood like wildfire. Who among them would be brave and sensible enough to properly confront this terror in their midst? Suddenly, without warning, a shining beacon of light appeared on the (mid)western horizon. Lo, it was Team 48's 2004 robot, xtremachen7, there to save the day! This gallant robot knight from Warren acted quickly, striking a blow to the Man Eating Robot's deadly jaws using its telescoping arm as a spear. It then used its powerful single speed tank tread base to push the disabled beast out of the ChiefDelphi community forever and ever, amen.

The people of CD should have been grateful to xtremachen7 for delivering them from evil, but instead, they started a new thread complaining how XM7 acted too much like a BattleBot during its efficient disposal of their foe. Sigh.

Okay folks - enough on this one.
Please stay focused in posting appropriate messages. Even if this is the Rumor Mill, there are behaviors that need to be adhered to.

Please review the rules for posting (that includes replies).

Travis thanks for trying to lighten up the mood.
