Maybe i'm getting old, but i really enjoyed listening to one guy perform for a while... Unlike the halftime shows of the past, where there were 10+ different "big name" performers all doing their best to keep their lips in sync with the sound coming out of the speakers...

So you'd rather see a 60 year old try to stay in sync with the music?
If they had such a good singer/songwriter they should at least have him sing.

The whole show was more laid back, less in-your-face.

I enjoyed it, the music was good, the light show was good, and-- there was no "obvious" lip syncing going on...

I don't really care if it is recorded, i just hate it when a singer has their microphone at their side and the singing keeps going on the speakers (i think it was Nelly a few years ago who this happened with)

And yes, he is a good singer/songwriter. :)

WOOO HOOOO GO Eagles, I mean umm darn.

This superbowl was disappointing, the game, the halftime show or so I've heard because I didn't watch it, and the commercials, there were a few good ones but not that many. I think alot of companies wasted millions of $$ on something that wasn't even stupid funny. But now we wait for the REAL superbowl to begin in the only sport whom has its main event first, thats right NASCAR and the DAYTONA 500.

I loved the commercial that I believe Anheuser-Busch sponsored. Where the lady was sitting in the airport and spotted a service man, and started appluading. In return it set of a chain reaction of more individuals applauding and more service men and women walking through the airport.

... the momma's boy plastic toy commercial in the shopping cart was hysterical!

I really loved the Puff Daddy pepsi truck comercial. The cat killer comerical was good. OF course everything was really good on our 61 inch HD DLP tv. The ball wa almost life size.

well eagles should have won!

i still dont understand something...

a team wins 3-4 superbowls and suddenly nobody likes them for being the way they are....same thing applies to FIRST, a team for instance (71,111,60) for example are model teams that prove themselves, but still people say "oh i hate beatty, or kingman" why? because they win?

so the main question is why after the patriots won last night people still say "oh i hate the pats, the eagles SOOOO should have won that game" when the winning team clearly PROVED themselves? maybe im the only one who sees things like this as unsportsmanlike, or ungracious, but i think its kind of rediculous..

i know i would never say i hate a team because they do well.

I would just rather cheer for the underdog. Four years ago, I rooted for the Patriots. This year I rooted for the Eagles, since it had been 24 years since they'd had a shot at it. It's all about giving the little guy a chance at the big token. I personally get tired of seeing the same thing over an over, hearing about the same team win year after year. For instance it gets old to see the Yankees in the World Series every year, it would be nice to have new fresh blood just to hear about like this year with the Angels.

..... I'm just all about the the "little guy succeeding".

Re: Boring... :p

The best Half Time show I saw ever was in 2002 when U2 performed and the large banners were displayed with the victims names from 9-11 as a tribute.

True, it was kind of commercializing a tragic event in our nations history, but it was very tastefully done.

Commercials were OK, and the mistaken cat murderer was funny, but I think the best one was the Mamma's Boy Action figure for the Degree antiperspirant. As soon as I saw that I immediately started thinking of people who I know that it (the doll) represented.

Don't you mean the Red Sox? I am not a big baseball fan, so if the Angels did much better than expected, good for them and I'm sorry that I didn't know about it, but I do believe that the Red Sox were underdogs and won the world series.

See, the super bowl half time show committee finally got smart. The reason they picked that 60 year old is because the music he put out is still thousands of times better then most music put out these days...

Honestly, I think it was one of the best half time shows ive ever seen...good music and relaxed....no pop/hip hop/country medleys. Take the worst 3 genres of music and combine them into one big song...thats how you have a horrible halftime show

First, I like Paul McCartney. I think he is great at what he does.
My point is, when you have such a great musician, why not let him actually sing?
I can put on a CD of McCartney and it would have the same effect. If the performer is going to lip sync, and everyone knows it, then add another element to the show.

I think the best half time would be RHCP performing and not lip syncing.

I wanted the Eagles to win...

But their performance was mediocre at best. Eagle's QB just flat-out sucked. Making rushed passes/forced passes/ect... Eagle's line wasn't that great either (Even w/o the blitz)

The Pats one the game fair and square. I know when to accept defeat.

Congrats Pats/Pats fans! :)
