Superbowl 2k5!!

Eagles or Patriots?

I think Eagles are gonna win. They are more 'hungry' for the win and TO will not be able to be stopped (even hurt.)

Who do you want to win?

Re: Superbowl 2k5!!

Can i vote for neither?? i dont like the eagles, and dont want the pats to win it for the 3d time in 4 years... GO FALCONS!!!

Something about Florida always screws Tom Brady up...4 interceptions to the Dolphins really takes a lot of skill :D

*Note* Super Bowl is in Jacksonville, Florida this year

I am from New England, yet I don't really like the Red Sox, and the I hate the Patriots, so I am voting for the Eagles.

Last year my team was in, yet were defeated. Poor Panthers.. :(

Yeah, I'm still upset that Pittsburgh isn't in. So, here's me stuck with my mother screaming for Philly and wishing I wasn't raised here, and Greg yelling about the Pats. Ohh well, "Tomorrow we are all undefeated again!" :]

Re: Superbowl 2k5!!

I think that New England will win, but I would rather have the Eagles win, here are my reasons why:
A) I live closer to them
B) My robotics team's name is the Robotic Eagles
C) I like Philadelphi more than I like New England
but because I do not care about football that much, it does not matter that much to me who wins...

Re: Superbowl 2k5!!

Well the bad news is the Pats win....

the good news is that the Pats offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator are leaving which means that it's probably the beginning of the end for them... (Im hoping)....we'll see for sure next year

so...when does that baseball stuff start? :p

My AIM Profile had my prediction prior to this evening: 24-22 to the Eagles...

Looks more like that score to the Pats... Argh.

hey sorry about the double post...
but did anyone else find the pre-game/half-time show really really bad??? i think the gretchen wilson song was ok at best, but when Charlie Daniels (yes i am a fan of devil went down to georgia) came out to perform, i thought it was terrible.....and then paul mcartney doing almost a half an hour of music made my ears hurt...

i give this superbowl a big thumbs down for the entertainment aspect, and even the commercials were mediocre at best.

sorry for the rant

I love the mistaken cat killer commercial.

My favorite part of the superbowl was seeing Burt Reynolds get kicked in the junk by a bear. The Ford and Pepsi commercials weren't that great. I found it amusing that Bubblicious paid for a commercial during the superbowl. I figured the Pats were going to win, so that was no big surprise for me :).

Tom

So you'd rather see a 60 year old try to stay in sync with the music?
If they had such a good singer/songwriter they should at least have him sing.

The whole show was more laid back, less in-your-face.

I enjoyed it, the music was good, the light show was good, and-- there was no "obvious" lip syncing going on...

I don't really care if it is recorded, i just hate it when a singer has their microphone at their side and the singing keeps going on the speakers (i think it was Nelly a few years ago who this happened with)

And yes, he is a good singer/songwriter. :)

WOOO HOOOO GO Eagles, I mean umm darn.

This superbowl was disappointing, the game, the halftime show or so I've heard because I didn't watch it, and the commercials, there were a few good ones but not that many. I think alot of companies wasted millions of $$ on something that wasn't even stupid funny. But now we wait for the REAL superbowl to begin in the only sport whom has its main event first, thats right NASCAR and the DAYTONA 500.

I loved the commercial that I believe Anheuser-Busch sponsored. Where the lady was sitting in the airport and spotted a service man, and started appluading. In return it set of a chain reaction of more individuals applauding and more service men and women walking through the airport.

... the momma's boy plastic toy commercial in the shopping cart was hysterical!

I really loved the Puff Daddy pepsi truck comercial. The cat killer comerical was good. OF course everything was really good on our 61 inch HD DLP tv. The ball wa almost life size.

well eagles should have won!

Re: Superbowl 2k5!!

i still dont understand something...

a team wins 3-4 superbowls and suddenly nobody likes them for being the way they are....same thing applies to FIRST, a team for instance (71,111,60) for example are model teams that prove themselves, but still people say "oh i hate beatty, or kingman" why? because they win?

so the main question is why after the patriots won last night people still say "oh i hate the pats, the eagles SOOOO should have won that game" when the winning team clearly PROVED themselves? maybe im the only one who sees things like this as unsportsmanlike, or ungracious, but i think its kind of rediculous..

i know i would never say i hate a team because they do well.

Ashley Weed 07-02-2005 12:02

Re: Superbowl 2k5!!

I would just rather cheer for the underdog. Four years ago, I rooted for the Patriots. This year I rooted for the Eagles, since it had been 24 years since they'd had a shot at it. It's all about giving the little guy a chance at the big token. I personally get tired of seeing the same thing over an over, hearing about the same team win year after year. For instance it gets old to see the Yankees in the World Series every year, it would be nice to have new fresh blood just to hear about like this year with the Angels.

..... I'm just all about the the "little guy succeeding".

Re: Boring... :p

The best Half Time show I saw ever was in 2002 when U2 performed and the large banners were displayed with the victims names from 9-11 as a tribute.

True, it was kind of commercializing a tragic event in our nations history, but it was very tastefully done.

Commercials were OK, and the mistaken cat murderer was funny, but I think the best one was the Mamma's Boy Action figure for the Degree antiperspirant. As soon as I saw that I immediately started thinking of people who I know that it (the doll) represented.

Don't you mean the Red Sox? I am not a big baseball fan, so if the Angels did much better than expected, good for them and I'm sorry that I didn't know about it, but I do believe that the Red Sox were underdogs and won the world series.

See, the super bowl half time show committee finally got smart. The reason they picked that 60 year old is because the music he put out is still thousands of times better then most music put out these days...

Honestly, I think it was one of the best half time shows ive ever seen...good music and relaxed....no pop/hip hop/country medleys. Take the worst 3 genres of music and combine them into one big song...thats how you have a horrible halftime show

First, I like Paul McCartney. I think he is great at what he does.
My point is, when you have such a great musician, why not let him actually sing?
I can put on a CD of McCartney and it would have the same effect. If the performer is going to lip sync, and everyone knows it, then add another element to the show.

I think the best half time would be RHCP performing and not lip syncing.

I wanted the Eagles to win...

But their performance was mediocre at best. Eagle's QB just flat-out sucked. Making rushed passes/forced passes/ect... Eagle's line wasn't that great either (Even w/o the blitz)

The Pats one the game fair and square. I know when to accept defeat.

Congrats Pats/Pats fans! :)

I know there are a lot of positive comments on this forum on the show, but if my parents, both die-hard Beatles fans, saw this comment, I have not a clue what would be in their mind. Yeah, let me think about that one... OK. You get the picture. :D (Not looking at this comment negatively, but in a sense it is pretty funny)

Just look at it this way: It isn't everyday that you get several thousand people singing the "Hey Jude" chorus. In fact, in today's world, that is unheard of.

I live about 35mins from Philly so everyone near me used to be an eagles fan.
I wanted the Pats to win cause I think they are better football team. They played better football then the eagles all night.

Now to talk about the most important part of the superbowl....
The commercials
I loved the monkey ones, they were great. I was sad that no Bud or M&M ones were out this year.
I also herd that the one with the cat got some animal rights groups all wound up, If i can find the link to the news site i found it on ill post it later.

Nice to see M.C. hammer working again...

Yeah, I hate the Pats, don't care about the Eagles, so I just watched for the commercials. Sadly, most of them were a letdown. There were a few good ones (and the one with Burt Reynolds was hillarious in its accuracy), but whatever happened to the good old days of horses playing football?

I liked the Nationwide ad where the kid build a robot in the garage. Then 'life came at them fast' and it blew everything up.

Also Budweisers Cockatoo to the Rescue, Fords Frozen in Fargo, Cadillac Elope, NFL show tune, and Emerald Nuts Unicorn were favorites.

Anyone else want to go see Robots? Coming out March 11th puts it during second week regionals, great for a team night out. Word is it will also be ported to IMAX. :D

I am of the generation that worshipped the Beatles, so I may be prejudiced...but Paul did NOT lip sync. I hope we all can be so talented and energetic yet so relaxed when we're 63! And do you think that in 30 years you could get a stadium full of people singing along to any of the tunes from last year's show?

I will admit that Paul does dye his hair....
