Hey
So many harsh words were used during practice when we picked you up with our fork lift at Western Michigan... It was only a practice round :(
|
whats the point of a forklift? just seems like a bad stategy
|
well we can control a robot if we need to and drag it wherever we want and hold it for as long as we want as long as we dont pin it on a side or goal, same idea as controlling a goal sort of...
heres a crude 10-second picture of how the lifting bars work.... ![]() hmm the links not workin well so try this http://www.geocities.com/vandals_sxe_punk/robot.gif |
That link doesn't work either. You might want to check it.

You have to copy and paste the image location into your browser. Geocities doesn't allow direct linking of pics.

I almost didn't believe when I realized that FIRST allows robots to grab other robots this year. In one Update I saw something like this:
Q: can we grab an opponent's robot and drag it do our home zone? I thought it was obviously not allowed, and thought this question was made by someone that doesn't have much experience in FIRST. So I got REALLY surprised with this: A: yes, you can. During a qualifying match, a robot knocked us, BREAKING OUR LAMP'S PLASTIC COVER into pieces!! I think FIRST should review that rules for next year. |
if we damage any robot with our lift then we are automatically disqualified, so like if we knocked a really narrow robot over on accident, we get disqualified, the rules arent as bad as you think

A forklift's value
It seems like a forklift would be the perfect weapon with which to defeat Beatty's robot. If you can lift those front feet off the ground, you're home free.
|
actually i told our driver that but im just a lowly grunt... what do i know....
|
Will, Tony listened to you and he was pushing that as one of our features when talking to other teams. The rest of us were somewhat weary to say such things only because we had never done it.
