Camera tracks backwards
We have got our camera tracking off the robot. One problem is that when you pick up one of the colored triangles and move in front of camera as look you at the person and they move left, and yiou look at the screen on computer the object moves right.
Is this correct or not? Also the color numbers I have come up with are green 49, yellow 24, red 118, red is iffy it does not find it all time, still have to play with numbers. thanx and good luck all Big Daddy |

(Or it used to -- the electrical team tells me they let out the camera's magic smoke after they wired a connector backwards.) |

Re: Camera tracks backwards
Check the manual again. There's jumpers that mirror the pan/tilt servo directions. It took me like a week to find this out.

Re: Camera tracks backwards
No no no. You are just fine. As long as the camera tracks it doesnt matter, and as Alan said the GUI screen is backwards. The only color we can track reliably is red. Though we always illuminate the target with a work light, so that may be why. It definetly has to do with having yellow walls, blue tables, and lights that the camera seems to think are green... It is actually kind of fun to play with the robot and watch to see which part of the wall it goes to when we tell it to track yellow.

The diagram is on ifirobotics.com
Here's a link to the zip file. http://www.ifirobotics.com/docs/came...d-markings.zip In the pdf called CMU Cam Assembly, there's a section called mode header. You should put a jumper on the pan reverse or the tilt reverse. Good luck. |
Re: Camera tracks backwards
You people didnt read his post. He said the camera tracks fine, its just the immage on the computer screen that is backwards. This is a problem with the software on the computer, and it no way affects the camera's ability to track.
Bob: Dont put the reverse jumpers on the camera, as if you do it will not track properly (assuming it is tracking ok now) The jumper pins run along the edge by where you plug the servos in, but like I said if it is working ok now then dont mess with it. |
