FIRST is freakishly amazing! It's soo amazing that I think I'll go into a FIRST depression after I leave highschool. :(

i'm right there with you. this is my FIRST year actively participating in FIRST. let me tell you i don't think i've EVER spent so much time whole-heartedly on any one topic in my life. Everyone thinks i'm crazy when my eyes are twitching and bloodshot and they ask me what i was doing and i say "programming".

The weirdest thing is, it's probably the source of ALL of my frustration these two months...and i still love it. Had i had the choice to take back all the rants, the sleep i lost, the times i've been yelled at or yelled at someone else, ANYTHING...i wouldn't. because FIRST is like that.

FIRST is just one of those competitions that no matter what, you end up getting sucked into it and catch yourself jumping up and down saying "OPEN! OPEN! LEFT! YES!!! WHOOOO" and do the little victory dance.

Its pretty much almost unanimous with everyone:
It may be stressful the first two months, but the competitions are all worth it (unless your robot doesn't work, but its still fun nonetheless :D ).

To me, wiring the robot can get frustrating at times, but it is miraculous to see that my job on the robot pays off.... except when I make a mistake (which is pretty often :o ) and a wire comes undone, or a victor becomes messed up, or etc.... ....

I got to hand it down to all you programmers though, that is tough to do, and we have even professional engineers struggling with programming sometimes. Its amazing to see a student doing C programming! This proves that FIRST is amazing! :)
