Get your frustration out here.

At this point in the build, I know tensions are running high. So, everyone please post here to get all the frustration out of your system. Do not mention any names whatsoever or say anything that the rest of your team would not be happy about

The thing that frustrates me the most is when people do not clean up their mess or tools before they leave. it drives me insane because myself and one other person are usually the last builders left when we realize every one else is gone. :ahh:

Re: Get your frustration out here.

I'll say it...the thing that gets my goat is living where I live.

Let's say I need to get out to Irmo for a practice. I either have to hop on the Carolina Shuttle or walk, either of which will take a good ten or fifteen minutes. (I often take the shuttle, just because it's a rather demanding walk. You've never seen so many stairs in your life.)

Then I get to my car at last, hoping that it works properly. (This has been an issue at least once this season.) Then I start driving, and driving, and driving.

Thirty minutes is the usual to get from the Bates lot at USC to Irmo High. Subtract about ten if you're at the Colonial Center (which I don't park at, because I lack an event pass).

I swear, when they invent teleportation, they'd better put one in Preston and one in Irmo High. :D

<Edit>In the defense of Preston, however, I will say that at this point in time, I wouldn't live anywhere else on campus. Not that I can, really, as I've already registered and picked a room.</edit>

Re: Get your frustration out here.

My biggest frustration is trying to keep myself from being too negative, and trying to be a good team leader.

Sometimes I feel like things are impossible, when I know that they aren't. We are experiencing some difficulties right now, and I find myself struggling to maintain a positive attitude. I want to try to be more positive about myself and my team members, because I know that we will figure out a way to make things work. But sometimes I find myself feeling like I am burned out, and I am not as optimistic about getting things done as I should be.

I am frustrated because I feel like I need to have more faith that we can do this, and remind myself that nothing worth gaining was ever obtained without effort. I need to remind myself more often that no one ever said that this was easy, and I need to take comfort in the fact that when the struggle is over, and we get to see the results of our hard work, the difficulties we had makes the success even sweeter.

I think that this is probably a frustration of most people. When things get tough, the thought "I don't know if we can do this" runs through most people's minds. I think that most would agree with me when I say this: when you decide that you can't do something, surely you won't be able to. But if you keep trying, and say that you can do it, there is always a chance that you might reach your goal.

I need to try to maintain this philosophy.

I'm frustrated that this year seems to be the year of secret robots. There are practically no pictures of finished robots.

My biggest frustration on our team is trying to balance running a team with a full schedule of freshman year college clases and trying to stay involved with a program within my major. My second biggest frustration is everyone yelling at me everytime anything goes wrong even if it's something I have absolutely no control over.

Phew, felt good to get that out... lol

All right, ranting time.
There's a person on my team who does nothing but talk and bug people. He walks around doing nothing and accusing others of being slackers. He messes with other people's stuff on the computers. To see what I think of him, view the attachment (I hope it worked).
Then there's ETC (Education Technical Center). Today, the entire Internet was down and every single site displayed a "403 Forbidden" message. And, with practically every digital thing due today...It also doesn't help that they've effectively (and unnecessarily) blocked all downloads and a gigantic number of sites. The attachment I was going to post was too large, unfortunately.
If I think of anything else to rant about...I will.

I've felt frustrated in a few things this year.

I have been kind of dissapointed in myself. I do a lot of stuff, but lately I've been having a lot of attitude problems in regards to some non-robotics activities in that I almost don't care anymore because of negative relationships with some people in clubs. I've also been letting a lot of stuff get to me, and haven't been sure how to handle it. Thank god for my awesome mentors always being there to talk to me.

Perhaps there aren't any done.:) The most annoying thing is that I have to get a control system working with a person telling me,"You know we should do this and this and this...." Guess what it needs to be done tomorrow. My opininon on the matter is get the thing working any way I know how.

The thing thats frustrating me the most is A) lazy people, B) People who come to meetings and do nothing except walk around and get in the way, and C) People who don't listen when you tell them something, this can mean getting a part/something or not to touch anything, especially important expensive things.

Re: Get your frustration out here.

I'm sick of the smart people who refuse to show up. And I'm definitely sick of the people who show up every day and get in the way!!!
I'm sick of my little sister finding every excuse to not work, and I can't stand how all she does is talk with her friend THE WHOLE TIME!
I'm so tired of people trying to take tasks away from me because they can't find their own.
I'm sick of my unreasonable mentor who makes everything so much more painful than it should be.
I think it's so stupid how this one guy thinks he should be driver when all he does is break stuff.
I hate how the Juniors on the team act just like the Freshmen.
I really hate myself for getting mad and yelling at my physics teacher a few weeks ago. He apologized to me, but I didn't accept it. It should have been me apologizing anyway. :(
I'm frustrated with the fact that nobody in the whole county is willing to support us. So much money is donated to "save music and arts programs" but the thing is, they don't need to be saved. Stuff like that is so popular it's not even funny! Here in Napa, it's not music that needs to be saved, it's science. Science is more useful anyway!!!

It saddens me that my team is disappointing me to the point where I can genuinely say "I hate this team." But it's the only thing I have, and I know how great a FIRST team can be, that's why I'm going to stay with this team until we're as awesome as we were back in '03.

Frustration? whats that? ...

... this build season has been the best build season, very easy going. No frustration when we got team mates working with each other. Its called "Teamwork"... and I was introduced to it this year better than any other year, I realize how easy going it can be when everybody works together.

I hate numbers, there are just too many of them.

I agree with Arefin, this has been a good build season this year, at least for my team, There are always problems and people that cause stress no matter what you do or where you work. Just think of that annoying person training you for a future job you will have with that annoying guy down the hall....

there are a few things making me mad.... 1. some of my team mambers saying that im bringing drama into the days work(all i do is, i see something that i think looks wrong and mention it). 2. our robot room is very small and we cramp about 20 people in there....there are usualy 5 that don't work. 3. i dont like the fact that half of our meetings were spent arguing and not working. 4. im probably the only girl on our team that has even seem the robot, let alone worked on it. nbow to get out my anger: okay, i am taking matt's suggestion: fcspkgmuj90j h0n8t]u340[hn x-zt4m;jin24t]'ae59 also, i tried the virtual bubble wrap.... that works too.
