Re: Have you named your robot?

Our team named our robot Excalibur to fit our team name the Robo Knights. It also goes along with our robot last year The Black Knight.

"Black Widow" ...once you see the final robot, you'll understand why
(and no, its not because the wires for our electronics are in a "web" like the first pictures we posted! http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/pi...&quiet=Verbose)

Re: Have you named your robot?

This year, we've named our robot Jimpulse.
It is spoofing off of our physics teacher's term "Pmomentum"
And our shirt has one of the equations for impulse on it, J=(delta)P

Team 1259 decided on ours tonight. O.D.O.R. standing for Over Dosed On Robotics. I know kinda weird but... you only get one robot a year so make it count right! Good luck the rest of the season.

Re: Have you named your robot?

this year, its Roccobot 2k5. last year, it was Roccobot 2k4. next year, it will be Roccobot 2k6. :) you get the point.

the "Roc" stands for Rockledge High, and the "co" stands for Cocoa Beach High, and the "bot" part shouldnt need an explaination... neither should the "2k5" part. :p

its tradition... it will never change. :)

yes, Roccobot is the name of our robot not the name of our team.

Ours is Pa-10. If you don't know why, go ask MA (team 1402).

Re: Have you named your robot?

Our robots name is always Chuck, however we have a sub-name or sub-theme to denote the years to distinguish the Chucks. 2005 shall be dubbed "Chuck VII Reborn".

Re: Have you named your robot?

Following our tradition (of one year) of using names of Titans (last year our robot was named Atlas), we have decided to name our robot Themis. Themis is the goddess of order and justice as well as balance (we figured we'd need her help to keep us from tipping over). She's depicted as the blindfolded woman holding scales that you can find outside of the Supreme Court.

Re: Have you named your robot?

Sticking with our tradition, this is our sixth year so our bot is named Sparky 6.0. Look for us at VCU and Championship in Atlanta.

Re: Have you named your robot?

Re: Have you named your robot?

It didn't have a name until today's practice tournament in Bellevue. Based on comments from other teams, our 2005 entry is now known as "Wooden Thunder."

I can't imagine why...
