[694] Simplicity in Action: Drivetrain & Other Systems Pics and Video
Check it out, the easiest two speed shift on the fly ever. Had a working prototype an hour after the belts and pulleys came in. Hopefully after the build season I'll have time to post a simple white paper on how to make it yourself(not that its any more complicated than what you see.)
Next a video of our bot in action. Everything minus its capping mechanism since all I have to work with is week old video. High(16 mb): http://stuypulse.no-ip.com/stuff/Yvette%202.wmv Low(2.5 mb): http://stuypulse.no-ip.com/stuff/Yvette%202%20low.wmv You'll get some nice footage of our Bumper System doing what it does best. Stopping other bots dead in their tracks, no matter what. GO GO GODZILLA! ~Ian |

Wow.
Paul and I had discussed several ways teams could adapt the KOP gearbox into a shifting system, but we never brought up this one! We knew that the many incredible teams of FIRST would come up with some cool ways to adapt our little design, and this is the exact kind of creativity we on the drivetrain commitee were hoping to see. Kudos to you guys for your ingenuity! Hope it serves you well at competition! John |
