at the 2007 regional a random guy came up and asked me if I wanted to climb his ramp... it was a reference to the 2007 game but still creepy

Every team has someone who would say something like that... we have a few. This is FIRST, higher percentage of smart yet "weird" kids then any other place I know. :D

My friend in the pits last year used to some pretty weird pick up lines. Can't remember them but they were really weird. But the funny thing is they worked. And i was all like :ahh:

haha, these are all pretty funny. This is gonna be my first year at any regionals so we'll see how things goes.

I generally don't see the really geeky or "lame" ones as lame, because I'm a geek with no social skills myself.

But I did get two that were kinda sad.

I felt really bad for this guy, and I hope against hope he doesn't read this:
He came up to me and said "Hey. Do you know what I'm bad at?"
Me- "No, what?"
Him - "Talking to amazing people like you."


The other one was after this whole line of people at the social had fallen into each other, domino-style. I was the second to the last, and fell into the last guy. He came up to me a few minutes later and said "Hey, I was just looking for this beautiful girl that fell into me a few minutes ago..."

Other than that, nothing.

Guy always seem to think they are about to cause an awkward silence when they talk to me. Rarely are they correct. They'll start talking about LOTR or something and expect me not to follow, and are amazed when I do.

On my team, some of us wear tube skirts (from last year) over our jeans,
so I was walking around and then one guy was like; Hey, you're a keeper!


It was a good referance to last years game
and it wasn't half bad
and he was joking, so its all cool

Regionals this year were rather disappointing...I got landed with head scout so my butt was glued to the seats the whole time. However, the underclassmen on the team more than made up for it....:rolleyes:

Atlanta will be interesting since I'm in the Hall of Fame all the time and all you do is talk to people......

On the back of my HOT sweatshirt this year I put HOT CHAIRMAN (because I'm on the chairmans subteam) and a guy at school is always like "you're one hot chairman;) " -- does it count if hes not on the team? lol

I didn't try this...but theoretically, it would be pretty lame.

"Hey, baby, I'd love to shift YOU into OverDrive..."

(Disclaimer: I'm not a fan of pickup lines. I can barely bring myself to say hello to a member of the opposite sex let alone use an embarassing pickup line on one...)

Last year, our head scout was you know scouting the other teams for a match talking to them and such, and a guy from another team asked if she wanted to lick barbecue off of him; she was rather disgusted obviously. This year though we saw him around at the regional and we were thinking about going up to him and make the two biggest guys on our team ask him the same question. We never did though.

Fortunately, I've never been the subject of any pickup lines at a regional or otherwise. I don't think they're very original or flattering.
On the flattery note, it's a complete turn off when a guy is like 'you're beautiful/amazing' when he first meets you. In my opinion, of course.

BUT I do have to say I met my current boyfriend at this year's Regional. :rolleyes: So, it's not like you have to use lines.
