ooh, ooh, how about this...

Roses are red
Violets are purple
catfish have itchy whiskers...
... ... ... ... ...
... and so do you???

umm... I think this would only be legal for girls to use on guys... or maybe gay guys... not that it would work for them... but hey, ya never know...

GryphonthePure 05-01-2003 02:20

hmm... maybe I should make a new thread for failing love letters...

"I sit in my broom closet chair,
frying the remains of my grief stricken heart.
Thinking of you."

All of this is getting out of hand, so I'm going to put and end to it.

For all of us guys:
FIRST is about robotics, not girls, and any time you see a cute girl, just remember its a false hope.

For all of you girls:
Due to this message guys will no longer be using lame pick-up lines, so all of this is now unnecessary.

For everyone else:
Just because I've never been on a date doesn't mean I'm a reject, just a freshman.

And that is why this was put into the Chit-Chat room!!

Newb, take it easy, and after 4 years, lets say i have been slapped a couple of times...

newbs...Have soo much to learn....

I'm trying to come up with my first original pickup line (but I have no idea how to set up for them, so this is probably utterly useless).

Here's what I've come up with so far:

"Hey there, need a guy who can cook and clean?"

I'm mostly looking for the popular female opinion on this line, but all commentary is appreciated...

aw, can you really? Don't lie! But I think that would work...

now on to bad pick up lines:
"Hey you wanna see how my gyro works?"
 at which point he proceeded to put his arm around me and talk to me in simple language, as if I, being a girl, has no idea of how a gyro works (it was my 1st year then, so I guess I looked naive enough).
I humored him for a while, and then explained everything to him he had said to me in greater detail, and with bigger words... :D that was fun. I'd have to say, he got taken aback some, but it encouraged him some more to go on following me
I'd have to it was rather refreshing, I enjoy bad pick up lines, unfortunately I don't hear that many (personally).

2002 Nationals

When we were at nationals...we were taped for the video from the team Heat Wave called "FIRST girls gone wild" and this one guy came up to us and asked if we "had seen his beach ball" while flexing his arms trying to show off...it was pretty funny

wait a second... I thought it went the other way... girls joined FIRST to pick up guys... cuz girls like me aren't really worth picking up with the others out there... at least that's been the attitude i've seen at the comps.

Dave_222 06-01-2003 21:43

Dude no way i only date robot chicks.

Johca_Gaorl 06-01-2003 21:45

<----------Dates a robot chick

MarkF 07-01-2003 00:47

<<<Happliy dates a robot chick (but she hates being called chick). How dare you say that Stacia? :p I gotta be careful cuz I see all the guys looking at you like they're gonna swoop in and steal ya!

Firewolf 07-01-2003 16:19

girl's line

during our brainstorming, we took a brake, and I brought up the topic of good bad pick up lines, and this is the one I made up (OK, not original) while we were sitting there, it might not even be a pick up line but here it is if any of the females want a laugh:

"I like my men the way I like my robots, strong, fast and durable"

purpledaisy 07-01-2003 22:07

ahh... if only we could build a robot that was all three, and reliable to boot... *sigh* i guess i'll have to settle for training my boyfriend instead... not that i need to do much training... lol, anyways... has anyone else had the trouble with the slutty freshmen girls who want to get "desperate" guys, and so join a robotics team, then quit when they realize it actually requires work?

not really a pick up line, but last year at Drexel, a guy sent his friend to get my email address at the team party. He made me write it on his hand, but i guess he didn't copy it over, cuz he came back on Saturday to get it again. lol.
