at the competition

we are rookies at this and were wondering if anyone could go over what is available at the regionals tool wise and what really goes on

i know some of these questions may seem stupid
do you need to bring all of your tools
this there a metal shop there available w/ drill press, band saw, etc
do you have any outlets at your pit
what can you do about tools if you have to fly to your event
can you bring spare materials incase something breaks

any thing else we should know......

At SOME regionals there is a Camau Pico trailer outside of the event. (Sorry if I spelled it wrong.)

A whitepaper exists on this very subject: In MS Word Format
http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/pa...er&paperid=394

And also, a discussion about the whitepaper itself.

Yes bring your tools, what you dont have someone else will probly be able to help you, If you are anywhere near teams like 365, 25 341 111 they will have tools and people to help you.
some times there is a machine shop at th regionals.
you get a powerstirp for the pit.
for tools that you are flying to an even have someone drive ship them in the robot box( to late for that) or tell the airline what you are going to try to bring with you, maybe they will let you is they are small tools in people bags, non carry one only though.
Yes you can bring spares only if they are built in the build time or fix it window
raw materials are always good to make spares at the comp though
bring food to keep out side of the comp cause it gets pricey sometimes.
HAVE FUN. good luck.
go to www.moe365.org and look at the Moementum FYI for more help.

sorry Elgin for not searching for those threads, I wanted to answer there question with out having to send them looking all around. :)
