Re: pic: team 73's 2005 robot
well here she is.... a few things to note:
there are lexan skins for the sides the real hook isn;t on there when the picture was taken we have a triangular base the same size as a tetra and can carry multiple tetras the arm has a reach of about 10 feet for our drive we are using 2 kit transmissions and 2 ball rollers see everyone in 6 days |
Re: pic: team 73's 2005 robot
Why did you decide on a triangular base? What advantages does it have?
|
Re: pic: team 73's 2005 robot
the base is designed so that a tetra fits perfectly on it, instead of having a way of holding tetras they just stack on us as if we were a tetra

It looks very unique and interesting! Where is the battery? In the back? Hopefully it won't tip over backwards; how high does your arm reach? I'm intrigued!!

Re: pic: team 73's 2005 robot
yes the battery is in the back and the arm reaches about 10 ft so far we have never been able to tip it because the way that our drive train is set up
a roller at the front of the triangle then the 2 drive wheels then at the back of our arm is another roller and since it isn;t a square it is much harder to tip because the frame is neither parallel or perpendicular to the drive wheels |
Re: pic: team 73's 2005 robot
now thats original. wuts its maximum capacity before it tips? with such a small base its gotta be hard to stay balanced. can't wait to see it in action!! amazing design!!

Wow ... that is one sweet looking robot. It is one of the best robots that I have seen posted this season. I really am looking forward to seeing it at Finger Lakes this Thursday. Good luck!
