For those that are just signing up. There is a new screening procedure that everyone must pass before they can volunteer. After you sign up on VIMS you will be contacted by an outside company for screening. ALL of your info, including references, must be filled in before you can be screened. You have to answer some questions and the references may or may not be contacted.

That is correct. I'll be shadowing Blair in Waterloo, along with generally making sure the event is running smoothly. The following week, I'll be making my regular season debut as an MC in Toronto. After learning from the best in Blair, I plan on making the Toronto regional a high energy, excitement filled event.

I'll also be the lead tech inspector for Pittsburgh.

What can I say, I think I've become a queuing wench... after chasing down late teams at NJ and Philly last year. Maybe it had something to do with getting to use a walkie-talkie.... They're just too much fun.

Pittsburgh - Queuing
Philly - Head of Queuing once again
Nationals - signed up for Queuing, but no reply yet.

Well I got the email back from Kevin Nolan, and he said that I will in fact be the Game Announcer at Trenton, he hasn't said anything about training, but there is still time until the competition. I can't wait.

Congrats!
NJ/NY Regional will often team up experienced and rookie volunteers for VIP (very important positions) like game announcement, head referee, inspection and field supervisor. :)

I volunteered for NJ and Philly regionals. I haven't heard from anyone officially, yet, but Rich Kressly tells me I'm on the list to be an inspector at Philly.

Re: Volunteering

Anyone know what the pit announcer does? In all of my competitions I was rarely in the stands doing scounting so I didn't get a chance to notice them that much. If anyone can inform me as to the pit announcers duties are? I'd really appreciate it.
