Rookie's, do you have FIRST fever yet?
 

Since 5 regionals are 1 day away from starting, I was wondering , How many rookies have caught FIRST fever? What are some of your ideas of what is going to happen at your first regional?

I have noticed that FIRST fever is the only sickness that can be spread by Internet, just looking at all theses bot pics and teasers has made me restless until I get to see all these awesome bots in action.

Yes.

I'm going to the New Hampshire regional this weekend, which isn't one we do.

I've been bored out of my mind since build season ended. I started teaching myself some PHP, but that's very different then programming the robot.

[edit] I've already gotten a small taste of what it's like from the UTC Scrimmage, but I was told by a team member today that I still have absolutely no idea what a regional is like. [/edit]

I think it's a bit early to ask this question, though many of them probably have symptoms :). A lot of times it's impossible to conceptualize these robots in action before you go to an actual competition. This thread will get hits like mad next week after BAE and Peachtree and others (sorry I don't know my regional weekends by heart yet).

Well I'm gonna say yes. Our whole team is extremely excited, we REALLY REALLY want to do well in regionals. We are really hoping we get Rookie All-Star, we did a lot of work on Chairman's Award stuff (just to turn in, we know we can't win it), and our website isn't too bad, which will hopefully help. Also, our robot works really good and is completely done. :-) 2 days! If all goes according to plan hopefully we will get a chance to see everyone at nationals.

for the record, i'm so excited i cant stand it. but i still have to wait til next week .... the suspense is killing me!

i give this thread about a week before its filled with Rookies (who wont really be Rookies anymore) who are hooked for life. :D

i wasnt nearly as crazy about competitions last year until i actually participated in one... once the first weekend of competitions is over, then everyone will really be buzzing!

Personally, I cant wait for our regional, I felt so empty last weekend, since i didnet spend almost all friday sat and sun working on our robot! Our team called last week off to relax. Hopefully we can do SOMETHING this week

Coming from the other side of the Atlantic, I've got a lot more to look forward to than "just" a regional, Fortunately I have still had loads to do as I'm doing our teams CAD, which I have got about another week to complete, though i still cant wait.

The rookie members in our team can't wait to get started on next years robot. I'm expecting a lot from them next year.

I may not be a rookie but after the final match at the Finger Lakes Regional I can't wait to get to Cleveland. To bad there are still 17 days until team 229 heads off to the Buckeye Regional.

hells yeah, iv had post shipping depression for the two weeks and i cant wait till the 24th when Nyc begins.

I have been counting down the days since we got our team number. Of course I've been addicted for a while, but man is it great to have a rookie team and spread FIRST to a community that had no idea that FIRST existed. Being a rookie 2 years in a row has been awesome. Our regional is in 4 days, heres to hoping for a grand finale...
