Hi I'm neha. i joined FIRST this year and I'm addicted too. i get scolded about CD all the time @ home because if i took all the hours i spend on CD and channeled them to my schoolwork, I'd have straight As. but no.... i wouldn't do that anyway, i like it here =).

hey im ryo, from well dont have a FIRST team now. last year was 1481 but that team is now gone. it seems. unless we get to have that number again next year. hopeful. otherwise team 23 from OCCRA. im supposedly the team leader. and basically does everything since we're low on members. i run cross country in summer/fall , snowboard, race rc cars in winter and polevault and long jump for track season. junior year now. busy year.

So now that about 6 of us from 1559 are going to be at the Greater Toronto Regional along along with 1511 to cheer them on, how many of you are we going to meet there? It seems we're addicted to FIRST, and even though we only competed in one regional we can't seem to escape going to as many others as we can. Now we just have to find a way to get to Atlanta. Even watching is great fun. Hope to see you all there! And its been great meeting you all! :cool:

um I'm a freshman? I'm new to mostly everything, came straight from a private catholic school to a public school, UDHS, coming to that school was that first time i heard about FIRST and robotics and such. i feel in love with it when my friend's told me, my friend Dan actually forced me to join since i tried to make him try out for the play. I fell in love with everything, and it became my second family. thats about it lol. where are you guys from? :D

Married almost 27 years to the big guy with the long hair and the funny hat, Jack; official mom of Jon (drive team coach) and Kori (college mentor on team); unofficial mom of a lot of people... Worked in library system for 25 years, now working as a college web site coordinator.

I love the color red; love the Internet; love to read; am continually inspired by the RAGE students I work with; and need more sleep.

This is my last year on team (and I'll miss it!). Hope to meet some of you next week in Chesapeake, and then in Atlanta. (I'm helping with three workshops at the Conference - check out the schedule!).

Hi. My name is Daniel. I am on team 294 (Beach Cities Robotics) which is often confused with the team next door (about a mile up the street) Team 330, the Beach Bots. I am team captain (although I don't like it to much; I tried to resign) and the Inventor guy. I am really shy, so I'm not very social at the competitions.

At school, I am a math/science/robotics/band/boy scout geek. I am an Eagle Scout (I am extremely proud of that). I play the Baritone Horn in the band, and I'm the first chair. I am in 3 AP classes, including Calc AB and Chemistry. I often overstrain myself, and I have had major stress/health issues because of that. But hey, if overstraining myself means being in FIRST, I'm all for it.

I have many hobbies outside of robotics (imagine that!). I collect coins, mostly foreign (I have something like 300 from 5 continents and around 30 countries, not using a Euro). I also am an avid hearts player (among people who have mostly been playing hearts longer than I have been alive, I win 46% of the time).

Not to be confused with "Watashi wa Kami" which means "I am a god". my team's number is 975 and our name is Synergy!!! *excitement!!!* I am pretty much the steretypical Anime fan/video gamer/Star Wars geek/nice guy. Our team did fairly well in our regional, in which we were all happy. but I was mostly chillin' with my middle school friends, which means I'm a freshman. My name is Debbie from Team 141, the Wo-Bot! This is my second year being involved in FIRST and it's changed my life greatly, I'm actually doing tons better in school and I'm proud to say that my anti-drug-or-anything-that-could-get-me-in-trouble is FIRST Robotics.

My team is on their 11th year of this and has gone through 3 sponser changes... we went from Prince, to JCI, to JR Automation in those 11 years. We're the 2004 WMR Regional and Chairman's Winners and the 2004, 2005 Buckeye Regional recipients of the Engineering Inspiration award. Our trademark dance is the Chicken Dance in the Red 141 boxes that are so big and awkward.

i'm Leslie from 233. i'm from the Space Coast of Florida right by KSC (where rockets launch!) and that has motivated me to wish to aspire to become an astronaut when i get older. i'm a sophomore, so this is my 2nd official year being involved with FIRST on my team, however when i was in 7th grade i got hooked when i visited The Championship Event at Epcot to see my brother's team compete. Being on a FIRST team highly influenced where i wished to go to high school, and because of my decision of where i wanted to go to school, i have also become an IB student (who is currently procrastinating and not studying for the 2 tests and 3 quizzes she has tomorrow, because she would rather surf ChiefDelphi). uhhhm.... at competitions i dress in just board shorts and a pink bikini (because our team theme is the beach... our team color just so happens to be pink) and i paint my entire body (from head to toe.. or at least just what skin is visible) pink. :) you might have seen my W.A.I. pic before i changed it because of the rediculous amounts of hits i got on it. i may or may not do that at nationals... you all will just have to wait and see.

i'm about 5' 3" (aka: short, but not as short as some other people on the forums ;)) with fair skin and i was a brunette but not anymore... you'll just have to wait and see whats different about it at nationals. uhm.. i'm 100% Puerto Rican (boricua hasta la muerte!) and a DDR addict (as well as a FIRST addict). uhmm.. stuff i do outside of FIRST and school includes: playing violin, playing video games (namely Nintendo stuff, with the exception of DDR), traditional and digital painting, drawing and creative writing. :p when i go to college (i'm not sure where yet, but i'm considering a few colleges in FL and the University of Colorado (when we went to the Denver Regional i fell in love with the campus and actually got to meat the Dean of Admissions... found out that many astronauts have graduated from that U so i might follow suit :D) i'm planning on doing a dual major in English Literature and Physics (not exactly sure if i want to do Astrophysics or Quantum Physics or what yet...) uhmm.. yea... ooo! i should probably talk about what i do with regards to FIRST!

i mentor FLL teams and i referee at local tournaments as well as at the State Tourney, i'm usually at all of the Robot Demos... everywhere. doesnt matter if its at a school or organization or what, i'm usually demoing the robot, spreading the word of FIRST, and getting driving practice in the meantime ^_^ uhmm.. i was the Student Project Manager for the Graphic Design Team and the Chairman's Award... i'm actually one of the student Representatives that presents the chairman's award too. i also [attempted to] try out for both driving positions this year, and got beaten by the boys (but thats okay, theres always next year), and i also work on fundraising and SPIRIT! of course... and i'm not sure but i think i'm a student manager for our new Team History Group. basically, i've only been on the team for 2 years, but i've stretched myself out over a lot of the aspects of FIRST. the only thing i wish i knew more about was how the robot works... so in light of that, i guess for the time being, i'm a Pit-Crew-Wannabe. this is getting really long... lol so i guess its enough for now. excuse any stupidity in all i've written above, it may not look that late but it sure feels like it, and my typing skills are proof that although sleeping is technically not allowed until the 8hr bus trip home from Atlanta coming home from the Championship event, i should probably consider getting some shut-eye. :cool:

I'm on team #599, the RoboDox from Granada Hills, California. I'm one of our programmers (I did our autonomous mode), and also helped assemble the arm.
This is my first year on the team, and it'll be my only year as a student. I'm going to stay on as a mentor, though. Starting this fall I'll be attending college at California State University, Northridge to major in Engineering.

Easiest way to describe me: hopeless computer geek. I spend most of my free time playing computer games, programming random stuff, or surfing the web and talking online (although I also paintball, bowl, and play tennis with my friends).

I'm Christina from 233 (aka the pink team). it's hard to miss us at competitions. i have been singing for i think 6 years and i have had multiple years in opera training. i do everything i can on the team but my main job is spirit. i'm 17 (almost 18! w00t! the week after the champs by the way...) and i feel pathetic because i finally got my driver's liscence. some people dont find that odd but here in florida we can get our lisence when we are 16. i was almost 18 so yea...
anyways this is my 3rd year in FIRST but 2nd year being really involved. i love classical music and oldies (Im listening to the beatles right now ;) ) i either talk way too much or i say nothing at all so some people say its hard to know whats going on in my head cuz i have complete personality changes lol. and i think thats all i know about me lol :D

hello. im george56 from northern VA (those of you from around here know that there is a big difference between northern VA and the rest of VA). third year on the team. really addicted to FIRST. im into sports video games, and mostly anything that has to do with sports (when im not completely focused on FIRST). favorite team is the Redskins, o and cant forget the new Nationals! I'm a senior (missed out on FIRST freshman year because of football). and i guess thats about it.
