What IS that music?
I've only heard it in the background - our team has been spending almost all our downtime in regionals working in the pit, away from the arena - but what is that really dramatic music they play for the beginning of each section of the game? I know I've heard it after opening ceremonies and after quals.
What is it?? From what I've heard, I really like it... Other than that, in their playlist, I've noticed/recognized Around The World (yay, a piece I knew before robotics ;)), Ready to Go, the techno version of Cotton-Eye Joe, YMCA, One More Time, and some others that haven't been played more than a few times. What other pieces have you all noticed? Maybe we should compile a FIRST playlist! |
"Hot Hot Hot" is a classic in FIRST competitions. ;)
And this year in the Pacific Northwest Regional there was a very special song in the playlist: Amigo Punk, by Graforréia Xilarmônica. A band from our city that nobody else there knew, but we asked the "DJ" to play it and it was really special to us! :) :) the men in the team who had cameras refused when I asked them to turn the cameras on to record the song, though  |
WE LIKE TO PARTY by the Vengaboys.....that is a CLASSIC FIRST song....our team calls it the offical FIRST song!!!
|
another one bites the dust, lowrider, those are first classics
this year i heard some acdc, and motivation by sum41 that was at UTC, i hardly recognized any of the music at the NYC regional |
Umm. Yeah the music at NYC sucked, but the DJ did play some Slipknot for us! I heard that stooopid song by Missy Elliot "Get Your Freak On" like 15 times through the whole thing.
Yucky Rap! Trademark FIRST song: Mr. Roboto by STYX |
Last year i rember they played Sandstorm a bijillion times both at KSC and NAts
Andrew |
my team tried t oget the NYC dj to play Ole by the Bouncing Souls. it sorta became our team song after we won the rookie all star award on friday at NYC. after we went outside to catch our bus, Dan started singing it, and we al joined in :D stupid dj only played crap, i mean rap.

::gasps:: No one mentioned the Cha-Cha Slide?! That was played at MMR this year a few times, as well as Youth of the Nation. :)

Let's get ready to rumble super mix? |
Prodigy - Voodoo People
Actually anything off the Hackers soundtrack is awsome. |
i felt that there was too much n'sync and britney spears at the MMR. it really got annoying
|
Where's the ground pounding thumpin' metal?
I have been an adult FIRSTer for 3 years now. The music at the GLR always seems to rock, maybe that's because the Motor City knows how too!!:) Absent though, are the oldies but goodies: Mteallica, Anthrax, MegaDeath, Iron Maiden, ZZ Top(manic mechainic!),Ted Nuggent, Ministry, SoundGarden... and oh yea, the roar of a BigBlock Chevy dropping the hammer at 7500 rpm and buzzing through all 4 gears!! What can I say I love Chainsaw music!! :D
|
Someone should compile a CD of FIRST music...

<edit> Never mind. I found it. (The one I was thinking of anyway;) ) It is Sirius by the Alan Parsons Project. It is on Jock Rock, Vol. 2. You can search on Amazon.com for Jock Rock, and listen to a clip there. </edit> |
