New team: Boston north suburbs

I am in the early stages of planning a new team in the North Boston area. Probably within 15 miles of Burlington, MA.

Currently I'm planning to contact the following schools to determine which might be interested in getting a team going:

Burlington High School, Burlington
Woburn High School, Woburn
Winchester High School, Winchester
Wilmington High School, Wilmington
Reading Memorial High School, Reading
Billerica Memorial High School, Billerica
Bedford High School, Bedford
Arlington High School, Arlington
Salem High School, Salem
Veterans Memorial High School, Peabody
Lynnfield High School, Lynnfield

Please let me know if anybody is in the area and would like to help with this effort!!

Thanks,
Patrick

Be sure to get in touch with Brad Lauer, blauer@usfirst.org and Stephen Cremer, scremer@usfirst.org
FIRST Senior Mentors in Mass/CT/RI. There is lots in the works with new teams.

How come Medford wasn't considered (my mom's old school and Arlington's chief rival).

Thanks! I will definately contact them for their thoughts and ideas. I noticed you are also a Senior mentor. Can you explain what type of role that is and what types of things you help with?

Selfishly, I was choosing the towns that would be easiest for me to get to and closest to my company. Medford is not all that far -- I'll add them to the list. Thanks for pointing out the oversight!! :)

I'm from Medford (Mefa), and if I weren't already on the BU team, i'd join up.

I think that Arlington High already has a team (although my attempts to convince my friends there to join it have not gone well...).

Good luck! Maybe once you get started I'll stop by at some point!

Although we are all coming from different experiences, we are all passionate about FIRST. What we each do depends on our individual skills and priorities in our geographic area. We wrote our own job descriptions.
Personally, I have a major role in organization and running of the Chesapeake Regional. I am looking at the unique needs in Baltimore City re: starting teams. I have linked up with many mentoring organizations in Maryland and Washington, DC and am always looking to support and recognize the mentors in this area. I am co-founder of NEMO and actively promoting this organization to all of FIRST. I help FIRST hear concerns from teams involved in FIRST which is why I'm often on CD. :) . I also have my fingers in FLL and VEX.
But Brad and Stephen would have a different list.
