Re: A Warning to Human Players During Autonomous

Especially for those that don't utilize their human players, please warn them not to lean on the tetra stack as the shift in pressure from what it sees initially will make the pad think the HP is gone even though he or she is still standing on it. We also found problems with some of the pads when we put in our lightest human player. Having a disabled robot is not fun. So take whatever steps necessary to make sure the HPs and Pressure Pads aren't an issue. Best of luck to everyone.

Don't ask,

It happened.

I weigh 115 pounds and it was fine for me.

I did some experiments, and just going on my toes was enough to turn the light over the alliance station off. I hate it when we start on the far corner of the field, because then I can't see our autonomous (and it's so cool).

They actually warned us about this at palmetto, and told us a story very similar to yours, so I tested it out before a match. I weigh around 120 and I can stand half on the pad half in front of the pad before the light goes off... that thing is pretty sensitive to any weight put on it, I don't see how he got it go turn off by leaning forward.

It should have been a DQ.

i'm not sure why everyone else has had so many problems with this-- maybe it was the specific equipment? my team went to the NJ regional, i was the only HP used. i weigh about 125, and i leaned forward to watch many times, went on my tip-toes, all sorts of acrobatic moves so i could watch my team =p. i never once got the robot disabled when i was on the pad.
