Happy Pi Day everyone!
If there's one thing I don't understand about Holland High it's this: Why do we make such a huge deal out of Mole Day and then totally ignore Pi Day?? It's not even a huge deal in the math department. My high school makes no sense. |
Re: Happy Pi Day Everyone
So much i had to go through today with Pi day hahaha my math teacher brought in Pie for us..and my chemistry teacher showed us her shirt that had a big Pi symbol on it and the symbol was the numbers that make up Pi. lol but Happy Pi day!! haha

Re: Happy Pi Day Everyone
Well, if you missed it due to spring break, there's always April 26, the day on which the Earth has travelled 2 AUs along its orbit since the new year. If you divide the total path by the distance travel at that time, you get pi (since it is C/D). Or, there's also July 22, known as Pi Approximation Day since it can br written as 22/7.
Thank you MIT and wikipedia. -Tony K |

Today, however, I brought pecan pie. On top of the pie, I wrote in icing the first 45 digits of pi(e) and drew 4 lines through it (someone please guess why). I got mixed reactions. "Is that mince meat pie...?" and "What is that? It looks like ****!" and for the people who actually got it said what I am all too familiar with: "You are SUCH a GEEK." If I remember correctly, all of the above bagan with the three words "WTF???" I had a blast. This day goes to show that confusing people is a grand form of entertainment. |
